Who falls in love anymore?
Another controversial DailySkew editorial
by Angel Jimenez
Back in the good ole' days, people actually fell in love, and that love
lasted lifetimes. Now? We all know too much.
Now that we understand the chemicals and DNA strands and other stuff that
holds us all together, we also understand that traditional relationships are
not necessary.
Falling in love has gone the way of the mythical unicorn. Sure, there may
be a receding memory of that white horse with the cone sticking out of his
forehead buried in our genetic structure, but the bottom line is we will
never see the unicorn, and we're pretty sure that the unicorn was never real
to begin with.
Falling in love is that mythical unicorn. It isn't real, and it's become to
inconvenient to find.
It's a shame. I grew up believing the myth. I loved those fairy tales like
Cinderella, where the Prince got the girl and everyone lived happily ever
after.
Or how about Sleeping Beauty, where the guy delivers a kiss, and she wakes
up and is in love! Man! That was great!
I just wish I'd never heard about falling in love. All that falling with no
one waiting at the bottom ... man, it hurts.
