Dear Chris,

Does the Bible mention reincarnation? Is God male and female at the same time? I am a very spiritual person, and feel I am on the right path. Will I go to Heaven after I die?

From,

Ronnie Speck

Ronnie, let me help you on a few things. One, God is male. Like it or not, feminazis. Two, there is no such thing as reincarnation. It is appointed unto man once to die, and after that, the judgment. Three, spirituality will not save you. Only Jesus saves. That's it, period.

I do know that the Apostolic Pentecostal movement has the same power and authority that the disciples had way back in Jesus' day. And like it or not, Jesus is very exclusionary. He is THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life. No one gets to Heaven any other way except through Him. There are not scores of different "paths" to God, there is just ONE. However, you can choose any road you want to get to Hell. But ONLY ONE road leads to Heaven.

Dear Chris,

I remember when I wore a pair of pants to a homemaker's meeting and being taken aside by the branch president’s wife. She asked me why I wasn’t wearing a skirt and I replied that I didn’t think I needed to wear one unless it was Sunday. She asked me how I would feel if Jesus walked in the room.  That is the reason I have given up on Christianity.

From,

Leslie Jefferson

Dear Leslie,

Leslie, God most certainly does care if a woman is in pants. Read Deuteronomy 22:5, which says the woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment, for ALL that do so are ABOMINATION to the LORD thy God. Emphasis mine. Anything that God found abominable back in the day still is, and that also includes homosexuality. Women don't belong in pants any more than men belong in dresses. Basely speaking, it makes God want to puke. Do you want to do THAT to GOD? I really hope not.

When you go to a public restroom, do you ever see stick figures on the doors? What's the one they use to denote the woman's bathroom? I promise you that worldwide, it is in a skirt. What does that tell you? Skirts and dresses ARE women's apparel, and pants ARE men's apparel.

Dear Christian,

I was listening to the Phil Harvey talk radio show one late night, and you were a special guest. I could not believe what you were saying about Mormonism, the One True Religion. How dare you say my religion is a cult!

Jeremy Sankton

Dear Jeremy,

The Book of Mormon is not on the same level as the Bible. Joe Smith was an ordinary, fallen man, and it is a slap in God's face that he has been elevated to the position of near-God by humans. You also pledge allegiance to Joe Smith, and think that's not a cult? Please. Peter, James, and John didn't appear to anyone. They're dead. If there was any "appearing" done, I assure you it was a demon, sent by Satan to start a false work and lead many astray. Nothing new, happens all the time. And Mormons were taken in by it. He also sent a demon to Muhammed, which claimed its name was Gabriel, and started the Islam movement.

***

Dear Mr. Wright,

I took offense to your tirade on the Phil Harvey Show.

First and foremost, we do NOT "pledge allegiance to Joseph Smith". At all, period. We believe him to be a prophet of God, nothing more than that. We have had several prophets of God since then. They are nothing more, or less. Are you trying to tell me that my religion does not believe in Jesus Christ? I assure you that we do. I know that no one comes to the Father but by Him, Jesus Christ, who is the SON of God, our Heavenly Brother.

May Heavenly Father bless you in all that you do,

Peace, Love, and Later,

Peggy Sullivan

Dear Peggy,

Jesus our "Heavenly Brother"? PUH-LEEZE!!! The day THAT happens is the day I'm able to walk on water! Jesus is God with skin on. They are One and the Same. Joseph Smith a prophet of God? Yeah, right, and I am Phil Harvey. So, what did Joe boy prophesy? And did it happen? I'm willing to bet he didn't prophesy anything, or at the very least not anything new, and if he did prophesy something new, it probably didn't happen. Gee, that would make him a false prophet, and Mormons in trouble for following him. Tell me, would he have died to save your soul? I know he wouldn't.

And who is this "Heavenly Father" you talk about? Only Jesus has the power to bless anyone, and the only power we have through Him is in His Name. So, would you like to introduce me?

Christian Wright:

Not to try to antagonize you, but some of the ways you are dealing with some of what you would call "non-believers" seems to run contradictory to the teaching of the Bible.

1 Corinthians 10:31-32 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:"

Perhaps you should ask yourself - is my tone that of one trying to help others, or one trying to give offense?

Further, the Bible tells us that even non-Christians can find their way to heaven:

Romans 2:14-16 "For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another; In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel."

In essence, their lives will be reviewed on Judgment Day; they may be saved and attain heaven if they performed sufficient good works while alive on Earth.

Dear Chris,

I was reading that you think God is a man. I guess you don’t realize that the Hebrew form of “Holy Spirit” is feminine.

The earliest known portrait of the Trinity depicts God the Father as an old man with a beard, Jesus as a man, and the Holy Spirit as a rather comely woman. So, in my view, God used Jesus as a man because that was the most expedient. And finally, Numbers 23:19 is very clear "God is not a man". To use the expression you are so fond of "that's it, period, case closed."

-Jessica Sarah Michelle

Dear J.S.M.,

God is not a man, as in He is not human, but He is Male. Why else would EVERY pronoun be He, His, and Him? There is no Hebrew word used in the Old Testament to describe the Holy Spirit, because It wasn't given yet. What is their word for God or Jehovah? THOSE are the only Hebrew words that matter, because the Holy Spirit wasn't brought into the picture until the day of Pentecost.

Oh, and there is no such thing as a trinity. That's a typical invention of sinful, fallen humans. There is just One God, that's all there's ever been, and HIS NAME IS JESUS. The sooner you wrap your brain around that, the sooner lots of things will make sense to you, and the sooner you will understand I'm right.

After all, the Biblical chain of command has always been that the man is the head of the woman, and women are to be submissive unto their fathers and husbands. If any part of God was female, how could He have created human males, to which "She" would have to submit? Didn't happen, because when God came down here He was a Man. God would never be subject to fallen humans.

I'll concede one thing. On a most technical basis, God is neither male nor female, being a Spirit. But when God came down here on Earth as Jesus, He was a Man, and Jesus is still the One to Whom we pray, and of Whom we preach. That's it, period, case closed.

Dear Chris,

I figure if I confess my sins I’ll be okay when I meet the Big Guy. I don’t even need to be baptized.

Marty Kricheck

Dear Marty,

If confession alone of Jesus' Lordship was enough, then Satan and his demons could be saved. That, of course, is impossible. Also see Mark 16:16, He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believes not shall be damned. JESUS HIMSELF said that, and do you still think baptism is not needed for salvation? I'd like to be there when you tell that to Him and to His face.

***

Dear Chris,

Am I correct in this presumption: Christians (like yourself) can be arrogant, opinionated, graceless, condescending, ignorant, abusive, violent, and anything else they please so long as they accept Jesus as their savior, believe in the Trinity, get water baptized, and wear the appropriate clothing at all times.

Maria Fortuna

Dear Maria,

There is no Trinity. There is only ONE GOD and HIS NAME is JESUS.

***

Dear Chris,

I am a bit confused about the Holy Trinity. How could God be three separate beings, but still be one God? My parents taught me that the Holy Trinity exists.

Robert Montana

Dear Robert,

Such idolatry. Amazing. Look, there is JUST ONE GOD, AND HIS NAME IS JESUS. NOT three personalities, or three separate beings. Think about it. One person might be mother, daughter, sister, niece, wife, friend, and employee. But there is ONLY ONE PERSON! So why can't you understand that Jesus can be Creator, Redeemer, Regenerator, Righteousness, Healer, Lawyer, etc.? Those are only roles He has, but there is just ONE of Him. One God, that's it.

Lyrics from song by Jeff Harpole: Everyone knows there's one Satan. On this most folks seem to agree. So in order to fight just one Satan, why should God have to be three? There's only one throne up in Heaven, you won't find another one there. So if God is really 3 persons, He'll have to play musical chairs. "Let us make man in our image." They say this proves God is a "them." But we find out that once He had done it, the pronouns are all "He," "His," and "Him."

Dear Chris,

I am a Catholic. I happened to be watching some paid programming channel at 2:30AM and saw your show. You said that I, as a Catholic, am the Whore of Babylon. How dare you?

Tiffany Phoebus

Dear Tiffany,

The Bible describes the Great Whore in detail. The Catholic Church IS IT. That's why God calls the Catholics to come out of her, that they receive not of her plagues. You say the bread becomes the flesh of Jesus, then you eat it. That is cannibalism. You say the liquid in the cup becomes His literal blood, then you drink it. That is vampirism. In the Old Testament eating of blood was forbidden. So WHAT makes you think He would turn the contents of the cup into blood, and you drink it, when He told the Jews not to? The default setting for humanity's souls is damnation, like it or not. Jesus provided a way out.

It's called tough love. Your priests won't tell you this, because if they do you will leave Catholicism. You need the truth of things brought to your attention. Like as not you all would be saying your patsy little "accept Jesus as your personal Savior and everything will be fine" message, and damning people again to Hell, if I left you alone
.

Dear Chris,

The earth is millions of years old…right?

Dean Whitehead

Dear Dean,

So-called "carbon dating" has been found quite faulty in predicting the true age of things (within several hundred years). So what makes anyone think it's more accurate when it's predicting the age of things thousands of years old? God did not put fossils and things on the earth to make it appear that the earth is millions of years old; rather, our fallible human reasoning and fallible scientific skills have made a relatively young earth appear millions of years old. The mistake doesn't lie with God, but rather with us.

Until Next Time…May Jesus Be With you…
