SKI DUDE!

Background:

Skidude was the first game I ever made, for Microsoft Visual FoxPro. While Mr. Charron rambled on about how our reports could be more 'aesthetically pleasing' to the 'accounts receivable' about how he was such a 'hardass' with a penchant for 'getting angry' ... I worked away on this game.

The problem I ran into was reading key presses and translating them into moving ski dude. After half a year, I found the answer buried in Microsoft's ISDN developer reference, hidden behind the fridge. Within a week the game was done. Now I had a reason to not listen to Charron! Now you can too!

Source code is available here, and is very liberally commented.

I have uploaded the Ski Dude source, but unforunately I don't have either FoxPro or an executable or any of the artwork to show screenshots of, bummer. But hey! If you ever find yourself in a high-school class about database programming, make a few bitmaps and copy this stuff into a new program. It's kinda fun to look at, even without ski-dude.
