School has started, and I have a lot less free time. I'm putting this project on the back burner for now.

School almost started, but I have perfected the first build of this project. It loads any 24-bit bitmap (with dimentions divisible by four) and displays it in window in 16 or 32 bit modes, depending on what the desktop is set now. It works in windows, and that's good enough for me! I proudly give you Build # 1!. If there's any buts, please, tell me about it

To move this project along, I have decided to outline the "builds" for this project. To reach these 'builds,' I will have completed the required tasks into a stable program, and make the source-code available on this website. This list of builds will be updated, but here's what I can think of so far:

  1. Application should create a 16 or 32 bit work area for loading 24 bit images, either windowed or fullscreen. A class, SimpleBitmap, will be charged with loading and displaying these bitmaps. Numerous C-Style functions shall be declared and written in files display.cpp/.h and tasked with setting up the directdraw interface. The application should also support extensive debug logging.
  2. Deriving from the work in Build #1, the application in build #2 shall load and display sprite bitmaps of art in various "frames" of animation. This will be used for every bitmap in any game for this library.
