The DAHS Class of 1960's 45th Year
Reunion Weekend has come and gone. We thank every Class Member that submitted their
Class Member Info Questionnaire, Reservation Form and Reunion Feedback Form. We also,
thank every Class Member and Guest, that in someway participated in a part of the
Reunion Weekend, for making it a fun-enjoyable-successful Reunion Weekend.
Even
though the Reunion Weekend was damped with steady rain, it did not stop everyone
from having an enjoyable time attending the Reunion Events, and seeing and talking
with those attending.
Friday - October 7, 2005
The Reunion Weekend
started out with the Informal Get-Together, at the Leader Heights Diner and Quarter
Deck, Leader Heights RD and Route 83, it started at 8:00PM. Even the rain water leaking
through the roof and into the private room we were in, did not stop everyone from
having a fun and enjoyable time. For those that wanted, food and drinks were avaiable.
It was a pay as you go Event.
Saturday - October 8, 2005
Next was
the DAHS Tour on Saturday morning, it started at 10:00AM, two and one half hours
later the tour ended, Dr. Alan L. Fauth, the new DAHS Principle, did a superb job
as our tour guide. The Tour started with a briefing in the auditorium,
by Dr. Fauth. After the briefing we Dr. Fauth guided us through DAHS, and
gave very detailed explanation of the facilities, the present
school curriculum, etc.. Those attending the Tour were impressed with
the time and detail Dr. Fauth used to present the Tour.
Saturday

Kissner, Treasurer, gave the Treasurer's Report.

a 50/50 drawing.
Each Class Member was given a DAHS Class of 1960's Class Members'
Info Book and a cloth tote bag, navy blue with white lettering, 45th Year Reunion
memento. Those NOT attending the Reunion, were given the oppurtunity to order the
45th Year Reunion Class Members' Book, the charge was $10.00, to cover the book and
mailing costs.
Thirty nine door prizes were given, via tickets given to everyone
attending. Four of the door prizes were four people receiving $35.00, a refund of
what they paid for the Event. Other door prizes consisted of past Reunion Mementos,
and various items collected and donated by Pat Zimmerman, Susie Strayer, Paul and
Linda Kissner, Marlin and Ann Markle, Keith and Dottie Ehrhart.
There was a motion,
and a second to retain the present Class/Reunion Committee Officers, the majority
vote was yes to this motion.
Class Members and Guests took advantage of the remaining
time relaxing, visiting with and conversing with those attending.
For those that
desired, alcoholic beverages were available in the lounge located near the reunion
room, pay as you go.
For those that desired, entertainment was available in the
lounge located next to the Crown American Room.
Sunday - October 9, 2005
Breakfast
at the Leader Heights Diner and Quarter Deck, Leader Heights Rd and Route 83, starting
time was 10:00AM. We were in the same private room used for the Informal Get-Together.
Again everyone attending had an enjoyable time visiting with and talking with those
attending.

8-13-2005 C. Edward KEISER sent an email, Thanks again, you guys are
great at providing information that I certainly would have missed. ===== 8-11-2005 James Jay TOBIN sent an email, I thought I would pass on to you that I am quiet impressed with the emails and update info sent out to us. My wife's class of 1961 has no emails nor web site. You are all to be commended for doing a GREAT job. Regards, Jay Tobin ===== 12-15-2004 Dorothy M. COX Wynn sent an email, I was the one that brought up Darlene's name some monhs ago.....when I saw Angel SPYKER Peters and others that didn't quite make it to graduate with us....being included. Sometimes I have the memory of an elephant and other times......don't ask what I had for lunch!!!!! Darlene died many years ago. I think a brain tumor. the correct spelling of her last name .... I don't know. Gosh I remember Gerald Keeney as a cute, happy little fella...I guess he lived outside the confines of Dallastown.....maybe sometime, if pinpointed where he once lived...another classmate from his old neighborhood might come up with a sibling's name to contact. Sometimes I think about grade school years and wonder where some of them are. Benjamin Bailey, Eddie and Ella Mckeever(twins), Tanya Lentz, Judy Moody etc. etc.(but...then I get over it and think of somethin' else...hah!) Take care of your neck, Keith, I believe mine's shot...darn bone spurs just might have to go...just postponing till after holidays. Otherwise I'm maintaining. ( this is funny......my 3 yr old grandson watches old cartoons .....he told Santa he wants "Aaquaman" (from the 70's, I think) for Xmas....Santa puzzled over that. My son found it on eBay..so all's right with the world at their house.) ===== 12-12-2004 Thomas E. KING sent an email, Milner Dise's new address is: 6904 Seneca Ridge Drive - York, PA 17403 - Just visited with him and he is doing pretty well. |
Comments, complaints, etc. about the time of year the 45th Year Reunion
Weekend was held:
*I agree with the time of the year because we are away
a lot in the summer and it's not to close to the holdays.
*I think the fall time
of the year is good. Better than summer, unless having a picnic.
*Good time of
the year for reunion
*Perfect. Except for the rain. Maybe the Reunion Planning
Committee can control the weather too!?
*Best time of the year.
*It was just
wonderful. Hard to believe 45 years have pasted by.
*Really doesn't matter to
me. If I had to travel a distance I'd probably try to plan the Reunion with some
other travel plans.
*Good time of the year.
* I think that the fall is a good
time to hold the reunion.
*Time of year is fine. It's good we didn't plan to go
to a football game.
*Good time, we can't do anything with the weather.
*The
Reunion Weekend was held about the right time of year, considering everybody's
busy schedule.
*I think this is a good time to have the Reunion!
Comments,
complaints, etc. about the communications, via email and USPS, to the Class Members
concerning the 45th Year Reunion Weekend:
*The communication was great.
*Great
job with the emails.
*Very well informed.
*Excellent communication.
*Very
thorough.
*Very good communications.
*Everything was very well organized.
*No
complaints. What I participated in was great.
*Using e-mail suits me just fine,
although sometimes I am too "computer smart".
*My computer is old and
slow, so I am unable to open email attachments. I'll call you like I did before.
*I
think everything was fine.
*The communications were good.
*I was kept
informed, via USPS, since I don't have email.
Comments, complaints,
etc. about the 45th Year Reunion Informal Get-Together Friday night:
*We
enjoy that time. It's very relaxing.
*Good "ice-breaker" for the Reunion
Weekend.
*A little soggy, but the Get-Together was very nice.
*It was okay,
but the leaks from all the rain were embarassing. I think we need a fire hall, etc.,
where we control the room and have more space to socialize. We need a little something
planned for this event, too!
*Had a good time.
*The place was OK, except
for the leaky roof.
*Okay, with the exception of the water buckets at the Quarterdeck.
*Although
I attended, it could have been eliminated from the schedule.
*It was fun,
to bad more didn't show. To bad it had to rain on the inside as well as outside!
Comments,
complaints, etc. about the 45th Year Reunion DAHS Tour Saturday morning:
*My
husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Time well spent.
*My daughter and I
both enjoyed it very much.
*Excellent. Great guide (Dr. Allan L. Fauth, Principle).
Really showed and explained a lot more, than I was expecting.
*WOW!!
*The Tour
was excellent. The new Principle (Dr. Allan L. Fauth) did a great job of relating
to our "age group." I really enjoyed the opportunity to see how DAHS has
improved for its students!
*I thought this was great. Enjoyed it very much.
*I
think that was a good idea and I should have come, but didn't.
*Was so glad I
got to see the new DAHS! Really appreciated the fact that the principal took us on
the Tour.
Comments, complaints, etc. about the 45th Year Reunion Saturday
evening/night:
*Love to eat out. I don't have to cook. HA! HA! And we
enjoy being with everyone.
*Very well done. Good food. Lots of time to socialize,
and great idea to do door prizes.
*Great evening, well planned, food was delicious.
Thands to the Reunion Planning Commitee for all of its work and planning all year
long.
*No complaints. A big thanks to ALL of the Reunion Planning Committee Members
for all of their effort.
*Great!
*Mabe a larger room to allow more mingling
without traffic jams.
*Very nice.
*Very enjoyable, good food.
*The buffet
was great. I liked the location, but think there should be a "Short Program"
of some sort. It was good to have everyone introduced. (Need a microphone though!)
*I
liked the fact that we were in a room by ourselves and that there was no band playing
in that room. I thought that everything was handled well, and the food was good.
I thought that the room was a little small for the size of our group so that it was
a little difficult to mingle around.
*I enjoy going to the Holiday Inn and like
the buffet dinner - more choices.
*The buffet could have had more variety of
meats and vegetables.
*It was just "The BEST", everything went well.
Comments,
complaints, etc. about the 45th Year Reunion Breakfast Sunday morning:
*Good
idea!
*I liked the idea of the Sunday AM Get-Together for breakfast.
*Was
unable to attend because of responsibilities at my church.
*Okay.
*If
you have this in the schedule again, plan to have it at another location.
*Only
that we couldn't all eat together. And that we didn't need our umbrellas
inside!!, like all the rain on Friday nite! Wish more Class Members
could have attended!!
Comments, questions, complaints, etc., concerning
the 45th Year Reunion or anything else, for YOUR Reunion Planning Committee:
*All
of the activities were great.
*Seems like the Committee did a great job, I know
it takes a lot of time and planning to get people together. Planning the weekend
is something not many reunions do.
*You all did a great job. We had a wonderful
evening. The Hotel Yorktowne or Heritage Hills, would be great places for future
events.
*Keeping us in touch through the computer/email/class web sites is great.
Enjoyed the Class Members' Info Book, shared it with Class Members who couldn't be
there.
*Keeping in touch is very much appreciated. Cannot understand why Class
Members do not at least keep in touch.
*The Reunion Planning Committee did a terrific
job.
*Should also give prizes to people who have the most grandchildren, travel
the fartherest, etc..
*Thanks to you for arranging another spectacular alumni
weekend. Neither we do not attend our college reunions, but we never miss the DAHS
Class of 1960's Reunions. We appreciate the Committee's your hard work.
*Thanks
for great Class Reunion, I really enjoyed it.
*Good job Planning Committee.
*I
think a variety of activities so that Class Members can choose what they prefer to
attend was a great idea. There were different folks at each event we planned. Thanks
to all of the Committee Members who hosted the meetings!!
*I think you ALL do
a wonderful job. Thanks very much for all the hard work.
*I appreciate all for
the work that the Committee does in planning and arranging reunions. And I especially
like the website that allows me to keep up to date on any information that is added
at any time.
*I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into planning
our events! It must take a lot of time. You do a great job!
*I just want to thank
all Committee Members for all their work, looking forward to planning the 50th Reunion.
