114-Daniel KAIN, b. Ireland, d. c1781/82, Berkeley Co., VA, m. (115) Susannah LIGHT, b. ________, d. __________, d/o Peter and ____ LIGHT. Daniel, according to family tradition, died as a result of a fall from a bridge. He was listed as a taxpayer in Berkeley Co., VA 1782-17687; Susannah was also listed seperately in the same time period. His estate was settled in Berkeley Co., in 1795, long after his death. He is listed as a taxpayer in the county between 1782 and 1787. This is either Daniel or his estate. By 1783, his widow, Susannah KAIN (KAIGN),  m. 2nd., 13 Feb 1783, Henry MYERS, s/o Dietrick MYERS (See MYERS History #192). Of the children, only James, who died in Hocking Co., OH,  and Mary have been located. The other children may have been in the vincinity of Hocking Co., also. 114.1-John KAIN, b. 1776, Berkeley Co., VA, m. 28 Feb 1797, Berkeley Co., Mary DARKE, by minister Richard Swift. (LE52, WVBE1)

114.2-Kesiah KAIN, b. 1777, Berkeley Co., m. 23 Sep 1798, Berkeley Co., James A. HALL or HULL, s/o Anthony and Rachel (SIMMONS) HALL. The suretor for the marriage was William HALL or HULL, possibly the father of James. The minister was John Heitt. (LE52, 61, WVBE1) Known Child:

114.3-James KAIN, b. 17 Feb 1778, Berkeley Co., VA, d. 14 Apr 1848, Hocking Co., OH, m. Elizabeth MILLER, b. 10 Feb 1810, Berkeley Co. The suretor for the marriages was Henry MYERS, James' step-father, and the minister was Rev. Reebenack. James inherited land in Mercer Co., KY, from his uncle, James W. LIGHT. AFter his marriage in 1810, he moved to Farifield Co., OH, d. 14 Apr 1848 in Perry Twp., Hocking Co., OH. They had 5 children. (LE52, WVBE1)

114.5-Elizabeth KAIN, b. 1780, Berkeley Co., m. 11 Nov 1800, Berkeley Co., Alexander VANCE. The suretor for the marriage was Stephen Heard, and the minister was David Young. ((LE52, WVBE1)
