202 Johan Jacob HECK, b. c1727, Palatine, Germany, d. bet. 6 Mar 1782, and 28 Mar 1782, the date his will was written and when it was probated., Bern Twp., Berks Co., PA, m. 1753, Berks Co., PA, (203) Judith ALBRECHT/ALBRIGHT, b. 1 Jun 1734, Oley, PA, bpt. 9 Aug 1735, sponsored by John Alstatt and wife Judith, d. bet. 1759 and 1828, d/o Johannes ALBRECHT Von Oberengsbringen and Anna Barbara GOSSAUER Von Reesbach.  The parents emigrated to Philadelphia, PA, 18 Sep 1732 on ship Johnson, Galey from Wyniligen, Rhineland, GER. The name of his wife is Judith, and verified by the will. Johan came to America with his father, Yoost HECK, and mother, Eva Maria, and lived in Bern, Berks Co., PA. In his will it is stated the had no land at present, and left 15 pounds to his eldest son, Yost, and equal shares to the rest of the children (not named), with the exception of Barbara, who received items at the time of marriage, and John who was the administrator, along with his mother Judith. On 7 Feb 1748, Johan Jacob was sponsor at the baptism of Joh. Jacob Petry, s/o Philip Petry, possibly a relative. Jacob, as he is known in most of the Berks Co. records, filed a warra

nt #89, on 17 Jan 1765 for 10 acres of land in Berks Co.; he is listed as a resident in 1767; and in 1767, he was taxed for 100 acres, 2 horses, 2 cattle, and paid a tax of 5 pounds in Bern Twp. WILL (FH26, 30, PABEB2, 9, 12 p286, 15 p26, 18, 19p6, 20, 25 p28636 p4, 188, WVBE6). Children:

202.3 Philip HECK, Maiden Creek, Berks Co., d. 1808, will dated 9 May 1808, named his widow, Maria HECK. In 1767, Philip is listed as single, and resident of Bern Twp. In the tax list, he paid 15 shillings tax, though he had no land, horses, cattle, ect., and he was single. He served in the Revolutionary War in Bern 4th. Co., Capt. Sebastian Emrich, 3rd, Battallion, but no class was given. Philip sponsored  John George s/o Henrich Burnet and Catherine b. 1 Jan 1764, bpt. 27 Feb 1784, in Old Northkill (Friedens) Lutheran Church. 202.4 Catherina HECK. A Catherine HECK m. 1 Dec 1771, John Philip DIETZ. This is a possibility, but could be a daughter of one of the other HECK sons.  (PABEB22)
