100 Andrew LEMASTER, b. 18 Feb 1750, Philadelphia, PA, bpt. Bern Reformed Church 28 Dec 1755, s/o Johann Wilhelm and _____?, LEYMEISTER, d. 4 Dec 1818, Peters Twp., Mercersburg, Franklin Co., PA, m. _____?, (101) Barbara HECK, b. 28 Feb 1755, d/o Johan Jacob and Judith (ALBRECHT-ALBRIGHT) HECK, d. 11 Aug 1824, Franklin Co, PA. Both are buried in the Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, in Mercersburg, PA. Andrew was a farmer and blacksmith, and served in the Revolutionary War under Jacob Morgan Sr., Lt. of Berks Co., PA, 1777-1779, Capt. Emrick's Co., 3rd. Bn. Militia. With his share of his father's estate, he bought a few acres, built a shop and dwelling near Philadelphia. He later sold this property, and moved to Cumberland Co., PA, now Franklin Co., to the town of Marion. He donated land for the White Church in the town of Marion. He bought a farm near Keefers where he lived until he died. It is worth noting that Philip HECK, single, was a sponsor for the birth of their Maria Catherine, bpt. 28 Mar 1786, and this Philip was probably the son of Johann Jacob and a brother of Barbara HECK. 100.8d John Andrew LEMASTER, b. 27 Nov 1826, , was reared on a farm near Chambersburg, and educated in the public schools. In 1855, he went to Williamsport, MD, where he was engaged in the coal and lumber business until 1862, when he was burnt out by the Confederates during the Battle of Antietam. In the spring of 1863, he returned to Chambersburg and engaged in the grocery business, and again was burnt out by the Confederates on 30 Jul 1864.
