| Pencil us into your Franklin, and add this date to your Palm Pilot. Your presence is requested to help us celebrate our wedding. The ceremony and reception will be held at the Cincinnati Musical Hall at five o'clock in the evening. To assist you in your travel plans and to answer other important questions, we have prepared this webpage. For our many out-of-town guests, we have made special arrangements at two hotels. You will also find maps and tourist info as well as a list of our favorite sites to see in Cinci. For the ceremony at Music Hall, we will be having an interfaith service co-officiated by Rabbi Sol Greenberg of Valley Temple in Cincinnati, and by Father Ramon Alverez of Cathedral Guadeloupe in Dallas. Because our ceremony will be celebrating the Jewish & Catholic faiths, we have attempted to outline some of the more important traditions so that everyone might understand the beautiful meaning of both customs. Please do not worry, we will not be holding exams and we will be providing programs to assist everyone at the ceremony. The links below will take you to pages outline the Jewish traditions of the ketubah, yarmalkes, the huppah, the Seven Blessings, circling, and the breaking of the glass as well as the Catholic traditions of the Unity Candle and the Sign of Peace. (The explanations are excerpts taken in part from Celebrating Interfaith Marriages by Rabbi Devon A. Lerner and, of course, us.) |
