It was a great occasion for us to meet with our former music Drill & GE instructor Hugo Evarelli, his wife, daughter and grand-daughter, year 2003. The Grand Prix Show was being held at the Clifton Stadium, in Clifton NJ. At our reunion: Cliff Humphrey; Hubert McQueen; Charlie Hampton; Burnell "Big Man" Henry; Dave Blocker; Walter Caldwell; Sonny White; John & Jerome Cherry and Roland Casey. Presented to Hugo on behalf of all members of Carver was a plaque which is engraved our appreciation for his tireless devotion to making us Champions three times. Thank You Hugo, Always, Washington Carver "Gay" Blades.

Reunion

In the beginning, the Blades were known as
The Masonics. Pictured, right, at Prince Hall Masonic Temple, Belmont Ave Newark, NJ, in their new uniforms, c.1958, Civil War replica of the
Buffalo Soldiers Band , in the 1800's. Carvers original 27 horns; 7 drums, won the first contest that they entered (1958). 1960, Name changed to;
