JAPANESE

NEW - Link to First Japanese Lesson
Lesson 1 - - - - - - Lesson 1 in pdf format

Eventually, this will contain a few things.

First of all, it will contain some beginner lessons in Japanese. These will include learning to read and write Hirigana, Katakana and Kanji.

Second, it will contain a small amount of lessons on learning Bahasa (Indonesian and Malaysian). My mother has regained her interest in learning Indonesian. She had an Indonesian Nanny when she was a girl and living in Aden (middle east). She also learnt some Malaysian and Cantonese when we lived in Malaysia. I had also learnt some, but have forgotten most of it. Since then, I have picked up some from my Malaysian and Indonesian friends on the internet.
Hopefully, I won't lose the little I've leant, but I thought I might include some of it here.

Third, if I get some time, I will include some Chinese writing. The Chinese use this, even though they speak many different dialects, but the writing still conveys the same meaning. From Chinese writing we get the Japanese Kanji, and from that we get Hirigana and Katakana (which are both simplified forms of Kanji).

Fourth, I might include some of the little French I remember. My younger brother Jeffrey is very good with French, though he has some problems trying to think of what to say in French. Play a French movie to him, or show him something written in French, and he can pretty much tell you what is being said.

Fifth, my interest in other languages will include snippets of a few languages I know some words in. Enough to get into trouble, not enough to get out of it.

Sixth (and last), my interest in linguistics in general will be included in this section. I've been meaning to write a program that will invent foreign/alien languages for budding SF/Fantasy writers or anyone else who wants to muck about with the program. When I do get it written (don't hold your breath though), it will be written in C++
