The Eighties

The 70's ended with many problems within the hard rock industrie, many bands disapeared and the deaths of a few stars.

The 80's would prove to be the most popular and something most ridculous era for "heavy metal" music.

The kids were now all listening to hard rock and most bands that were comming out at the time were all hard rock bands, but very few of these bands still exists, let alone are even remebered.

Two styles would show themselves domminant within the hard rock community, the glam rock, wich was very taky and often offered very little talent, for the exceptions of a few bands, including, Van Halen and Motley Crue. These bands often weared makeup and some of them even went and dressed as women. Need I mention that this part of Hard Rock needs to be forgotten.

The other style would prove itself to be much more interesting and influencial. Lots of bands came out to continue what bands from the 70's had started, they wanted to be the heaviest sound out there.

Big names like, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, AC/DC and Guns N'Roses, would surge to become legends of "Heavy Metal." Most of these bands are still popular among kids two decades after they showed up.

My favorite bands from the 80's

Metallica

Megadeth

Guns N'Roses
