Malamud's microscope: The EF spotlight

In The Natural Bernard Malamud wrote the greatest American sports novel. Thanks to Barry Levinson, a very fine film version of the novel exists. Malamud mixed myth and history so well that he seems part novelist and part historian. "The Spotlight" is designed to honor the best in sports and sportswriting.
