The map above shows the 50 United States of America, and the almost perfectly circular Island of the District of Columbia, color-coded to show which ones I have been to, as well as which ones I have lived in. First of all, it becomes evident that I have never lived west of the Mississippi River, since, of the Major Hawaiian Islands, only Niihau is in the West. Also, I certainly regret not taking the opportunity to take the ferry from St. Petersburg Florida to the coast of Alaska. But enough about regrets.
