What Video Game Character Are You? I am Mr. Do.

I am sedentary by nature, enjoying passive entertainment, eating when the mood takes me, and playing with my food. I try to avoid conflict, but when I'm angered, I can be a devil - if you force me to fight, I will crush you. With apples!

What Video Game Character Are You?

SOFTWARE
OPERATING SYSTEM

I chose Windows 2000 becaue it has a lot less *BLOAT* than Windows XP, and it's more stable than Windows 98. I disabled a LOT of unnecessary services to free up some more memory. Windows is installed on the first hard drive (C:) and all the emulators run off of the second drive (D:). Works well.

FRONT END

I wanted a simple menu-driven front end that looked halfway decent and just worked... period! Don't get me wrong there a lot of really cool looking ones out there, but some of them have 1,000 different options that I'm never going to use. So, to quote a common IT motto, I decided to K-I-S-S. (Keep it simple stupid!) Game Launcher doesn't need to be installed, just download to any directory, unzip and run. Configuring is done by editing simple text config files.

EMULATORS

If you've never heard of any of the above emulators, visit Emulator Zone.com or Classic Gaming.com. Plenty of reviews and links to downloads.

JUKEBOX

Eventually, you will need to take a break from gaming and socialize with your friends and guests. When the games aren't running, the jukebox will be. Plus, the wife likes the idea that the MAME cabinet wasn't solelly used for games.
