3 Weeks Without Food

Lastly, a human being can last, on average, 3 weeks without food. It should be noted that there is a point passed which you will continue to remain alive for a short period, but you will die even if you are able to eat. This is because your body has the energy to continue living, but it doesn't have the energy to break down and process food into new energy to continue living.

The simplest solution to the question of food is to have ample food storage from times of plenty. Always save against a time of famine.

Food Preservation Techniques

Food preservation is something about which most people actually know a surprising amount, even if they don't realize they do. The first thing everyone thinks of is refrigeration, and that is an excellent technique. Also, cooking, pickling, canning, dehydrating, and even freeze drying. Some of these techniques require special equipment, while others can be accomplished over a campfire. While our "Just-In-Time" delivery system is up and functioning, we recommend having at least a few months of food on hand in case of job loss or natural disaster.
