K1 Fiancee Visa
The following is a brief timeline of the major events involved in getting and keeping Cyn legally living in the US.  This is an ongoing process and this page will be updated as things happen.

Early Sept 2002 -  Ron sent Fiancee Petition forms to Immigration.

18 Sept 2002 - Immigration sent letter confirming receipt of Ron's application.  They advised processing would take 70 to 90 days (yeah right!).

Early Oct 2002 - Cyn contacted the US Consulate in Sydney to find out what she needed to do.  Consulate said they would send a package containing forms and information on Visa requirements.

25 Oct 2002 - Cyn received package from the Consulate.

2 Dec 2002 - Cyn travelled to Melbourne for the required Medical Examination and X-Ray.

14 Dec 2002 - Cyn went to local Police Station to have fingerprints taken for required Police Check.

14 Jan 2003 - Cyn received Police Certificate.

16 April 2003 - Ron received Notice of Action from Immigration meaning the petition had been approved and information forwarded to US Consulate in Sydney.

5 May 2003 - Cyn received phonecall from Consulate to advise she would soon receive a date for her Visa interview.

13 May 2003 - Cyn received a letter from the Consulate stating that her interview was set for June 17, 2003.

17 June 2003
- Cyn travelled to Sydney for her Visa interview.  She received the Visa at the interview.

25 June 2003 - Cyn entered the US and she and Ron married (at last!).

12 August 2003
- Ron and Cyn applied for Adjustment of Status on Cyn's Visa and Employment Authorisation also.

13 Sept 2003
- Cyn received a letter from Immigration advising her Employment Authorisation Card would be ready to pick up on October 6, 2003.

6 Oct 2003 - Cyn and Ron visit Immigration where Cyn is fingerprinted and photographed then issued with her Employment Authorisation Card.

24 Dec 2003 - Received letter from Immigration advising that Cyn and Ron's Permanent Residency interview is set for January 23, 2004. They are to bring bank statements and bills showing they reside together, marriage certificate and all documents previously received from Immigration.

23 Jan 2004 - Ron and Cyn take the letter recieved to Immigration and are taken into an interview room.  The officer takes the documents they have brought and puts them in a file.  He asks for copies of Ron's last three tax returns which they had not indicated were required.  The officer provides a letter saying that these documents are to be brought in within 30 days and says the Greencard will be issued when the documents are brought in.

12 Feb 2004 - Cyn and Ron take the extra documents requested along with the letter given to them on their previous visit to Immigration.  They see another officer who takes the documents and says Permanent Residency will be granted once cleared with the FBI.  This should take place within 4 months.

23 Feb 2004 - Cyn receives a letter from Immigration welcoming her to the US.  It advises that her Greencard should arrive within 3 weeks.

27 Feb 2004 - Cyn receives another two letters of welcome from Immigration and seperately her Permanent Residency card.  This card is valid for two years.
