Laws concerning cycle paths are usually passed secretly and without any consultation with the people affected: cyclists. The 'Rules of the Road' has not been updated since 1998 and does not contain any accurate statement of the current legal position. So, until you are stoppoed by the Gardaí or involved in a court case, it's unlikely you'll know your rights and obligations.
