Campus like environment
Located at scenic Telegraph Bay with a backdrop
of green mountains, the Cyberport is designed like a campus
to facilitate a cross-fertilisation of ideas. Cyberport office
buildings have been designed in a continuous form to foster
interaction. Extensive green areas will allow the professional
community to enjoy an environment conductive to creativity.
Landscaping
The CyberPlaza will serve as a centre for social interaction
as well as a venue for events. Particular attention has been
devoted to the design of the CyberPlaza deck and surrounding
areas. A five-level, terraced lawn on the western edge will
provide ample space for sitting, enjoying the view, or quiet
contemplation. The stage will be used for outdoor demonstrations,
exhibitions and performances.
A curved waterway will run along the periphery
of the terraced lawns. The gently bubbling stream will include
stone edging suitable for seating.
The eastern part of the deck area will include
various feature spaces next to the office buildings. Careful
positioning of trees and canopies will provide shaded seating
areas to complement kiosk-style shades adjacent to the terraced
lawns.
Cycle Track
A cycle track will link all main Cyberport facilities. Bicycle
parking will be provided next to the cycle track and other
activity areas.
Seating Areas
Seating areas will be designed for 'active' and 'passive'
use. For example, spectator seating will be built close to
activity areas while seating in some of the quieter areas
will be designed to provide a relaxing and contemplative environment.
Multi-purpose Court
A multi-purpose court will be available for sport activities
and outdoor exhibitions. The court will be shielded from the
adjacent pedestrian area by a buffer of trees and shrubs. |
