Ok, now it's time for some shameless self promotion here! Don't forget to see the cheesy mouse over pseudo animation on those above three logos!

Do you thirst for more ferret cartoons?

Would you like to see ferrets doing strange kinky things?

Do you find insane antics of ferrets amusing?

If you answered yes to any of the above, except for the second question then this is just right up your alley. If you answered yes for the second question, you may need to seek some psychological help you closet pervert! Well, all that aside now, let me tell you about Quarks first then at the bottom I'll give you a link. (I'm telling you that out of kindness here, because I do know I tend to be long winded a bit, and you just might want to get to the cartoons. But don't fear I tend to repeat myself and you'll probably see this all again on the web site link I am about to send you to anyways!)

Well, if you are reading this far, perhaps you would like to know a little bit more about the who, what, where, and when of Quarks! Ok, I'll humor you, you don't have to twist my arm here! First off, although I am always told I am full of a lot of things, I will try to share some of the reasons and whatnots about these cartoons here. I have some minor art talent, a certificate/degree in color theory, and way too much time on my hands.
"There are so few ferret cartoon strips out there, so why not draw a cartoon of ferrets?" I thought. This was followed by an angry conversation with myself and art and copyrights and possible cases of writers block, and what not, although I am no longer speaking to myself, we at least work along nicely together.

All the cartoons you are about to see are all drawn and colored by hand. (I use Sanford ink pens and their Professional Quality-Prismacolor Pencils, which by the way has exceptionally creamy rich colored lead and blends fantastic! Sanford people, please send me more supplies for that lovely free mention of your stuff! Thank you!) And you will also notice in them, yes, my penmanship bites just about as bad as my spelling at times, so just overlook that ok?

I see she shamelessly promotes those damn cartoons here too!
The name for my cartoon, "Quarks", is a funny name I think. Up there with buoy, and spoon I feel in unusual rolling off the tongue type names. Because of ferrets being unusual by most people's standards it appealed to me to come up with an unusual name. Plus quark itself has a history of use and meaning. You see a Quark is the building block of a subatomic particle. Coined by the physicist, Dr. Murray Gellmann, who got the word from a passage in James Joyce's Finnegan's Wake, in the mid 1960's. In the late 70's it was the name of a television show that took place in space on a garbage scow spaceship of all things! And it was populated by a colorful crew, to say the least if you remember this show. Plus from what I understand, over in Britain it is the name of a cream cheese spread! So in some arcane way I feel it all comes together and fits this cartoon perfectly! Colorful characters, the Ferret-Universe name, and the warm feeling of a bagel slathered with cream cheese. (I'm not sure what the lox are just yet in the analogy.) It just clicks, well, to me it does anyways; I never said I was normal now did I?
My ferrets, obviously, are the inspiration for all the ideas seen within and coming up shortly. Also are stories from friends and people I just have to pick on through my cartoons. Sorry friends! I'm doing this all for my own fun and without making money so please, no solicitations of scripts and or ideas for money! I'm broke I spent it all on ferret stuff and fancy pencils. They, (the ferrets), rule my world, along with my cat, followed by my computer and husband. (Not necessarily in that order, but more along the lines of what crashed and lost vital info, dug up the plants, peed on the rug, or bought me cutlery or appliances for my birthday, Xmas, or anniversary etc.!) Oh, and often times I can be a wee bit off color in my humor, you've been warned! Now, go ahead read these cartoons, and enjoy! I've got plenty more on their way soon! Keep checking in!

Norka (Cyber Mustelid)
