Scentimental
Floribunda 3'- 4'
Bi-color red/white, 25-30 petals with a strong, spicy scent
'Playboy' x 'Peppermint Twist'
What else but 'Scentimental' could describe a rose that has wonderful fragrance and bears prolific blooms of such memorable color. Burgundy
red and white stripes adorn this vigorous plant which
has shiny, dark green foliage. Each striped bloom is four
inches across with about thirty petals.
Those who
prefer the old fashioned type roses will like the cup-
shaped form of this rose. The flowers do not last long, so it makes a very poor cut flower. In fact, the blooms seem to just explode rather like Heritage. There are always buds forming so there is continuous color in the garden. The fragrance, as the name implies, is a knockout!
If you are looking for a rose that
will be a real eye-catcher and something "different" in the
garden, try 'Scentimental'. It has that unique color combination,
hardiness, and a wonderful fragrance. Do watch out for blackspot as it can be an ongoing battle with this rose. The plant is so vigorous that it always bounces right back, though.
I love the bold stripes (no two blooms are
alike) and the fragrance is heavenly.
