Rose Rhapsody

Hybrid Tea 4 1/2'

'Fragrant Cloud' x 'Ingrid Bergman'

Deep cherry red-black blooms become bright rosy-pink with a strong, sweet old rose fragrance, 40 slightly ruffled petals on large 6" blooms borne mostly singly. Upright, medium and spreading growth.

JACSASH : Zary, 1999

With a parent like 'Fragrant Cloud', you just expect 'Rose Rhapsody' to pack quite a punch in the fragrance department and does it ever! This is already a new favorite of mine. 'Rose Rhapsody' has blooms that are very large, extremely fragrant, and very full. Growth habit is vigorous and sturdy. It makes a very good cut flower that lasts several days and its powerful rose fragrance quickly perfumes the room.

The blooms are huge! The color is bright and fades with age to a nice somewhat dusty shade of pink. Form may not be the best for exhibition but enjoy it in your garden and in vases. The fragrance is what I dream of for every rose. Blackspot can be a definite problem if a faithful spray regimen is not maintained. Has proven winter hardy as well!

ARS Rating: 7.6
