About Jesus--- Who, exactly is he?

Listen. This is where Christianity is different from other religions. Christianity claims that no one can reach heaven by simply doing good, and the only way to be saved is to let Jesus take the punishment for our sins. That means, in Christianity, to go to heaven, we need a savior, someone who dies in our place for us, and that someone in Jesus. It is not good works or a religion that saves us. The one who saves us is Jesus, who takes the punishment of our sins in place of us. So, who is this Jesus and why is it that he qualifies to be the savior Christians believe in?

There are many debates in the secular world, as to who Jesus really is. Some, like the Christians think he is the son of God and the savior of mankind. There are others, like the Jews who think he is a good teacher. Some think he is a prophet, like the Muslims. Most people think he is a good moral teacher, a founder of the religion called Christianity. What about you? What do you think of Jesus? I will let you know that before I was a Christian, I thought of Jesus as a crazy, weird foreigner. And after being a Christian, I still thought badly of him... until after a long period of struggles. Let look at the bible and see what the bible tells us of Jesus.

The bible tells us Jesus is the savior. He is born to redeem mankind from their sins. He is born of a virgin.

Read Mathew 1:18-24 and you will see this is what the bible speaks of Jesus.

He perform many miracles. (Healing the sick, Expelling demons, raising a dead man from death to life, walk on water, calm the storm, feed a crowd of 5000 over people with just five loaves of bread and two pieces of fish)

You can find these incidents if you read the gospels of God. The gospels of God are Mathew, Mark, Luke and John in the Holy Bible.

Jesus can read the thoughts of men.

Jesus foresee the future. He knows he will die, and rise three days later.

Jesus rise from the dead.

Jesus claimed to be the only way to heaven.

Jesus did not rebuke a person who called him, "My lord and my God". This tells us that Jesus thinks he is God.

From the bible, Jesus is this. He is the savior, born to redeem a lost world, and to be the sacrifice for their sins. He came, to reconcile God with man. He came to die, and to defeat death. When he rise three days after death, he defeat death and sins. Jesus was born just for that reason, to bring man to God.

Jesus is God. He is born of the Holy Spirit of God. He is born of a virgin. He can perform miracles. He can read the thoughts of certain man. He had unlimited wisdom. And he accepted worship from his disciple who called him, "My lord and my God." He rises from the dead, not in spirit but in body.

Jesus is different from Buddha or all the other religious leaders in this sense. While all the founders of other religions are dead and in their graves, Jesus is not. He resurrected and came back to life, not as a spirit, but as someone with a physical body. How can we know all this?

We know all this from the bible. It is said that in the bible, Jesus becomes alive, and went back to his disciples. He not only talked to them, but he ate with them as well. Only a body can eat solid food. A spirit cannot eat the food of this world. So Jesus Came back from the dead with a physical body. Christianity believes Jesus is alive, now.

Okay, so where is he now? Well, he is back in heaven. After he rises from the dead, he is with his disciples for forty days, and then he ascended into heaven before their eyes. He is in heaven to pray for the lost, and also to prepare a house for those that believed in him.

This is the biblical perspective of who Jesus is. This is the Christian belief of Jesus.

We believe....

1) Jesus is the only way to God.

2) Jesus is the son of God, and Jesus is God himself, a person of the trinity God.

3) Jesus is alive, and praying for us before God in heaven.

4) Heaven is not just a spiritual reality. It exists, physically and it is where Jesus is currently at.

5) There is no other God, besides the trinity God. All other gods are creations of man. Trinity God differs in the sense it is him who creates man.

6) Jesus is sinless, or he will not be the perfect sacrifice.

7) Jesus will come back to the Earth one day.

But you might be wrong, exclaimed some of you. I asked, why?

You replied, Many reasons.

A) Jesus might not be real. He might not even exist.

B) Even if he exists, the bible might be lying about him. The disciples lied about what they write in the bible.

C) Even if the disciples are not lying, and Jesus really exists, he needs not be the only way to God. He is just one of the more enlightened prophets of God, a good moral religious teachers.

D) Jesus might be lying about himself.
