"Be a hero, not a victim. Today our wonderful country is suffocating in a
cultural atmosphere of victimization and whining. While a victim wallows
in self-pity and defeatism, a hero takes on all challenges and stares down
his or her fears and weaknesses like so many of the ordinary people we know."

As a Conservative I
also align myself with the Republican Party. Because they as a party represent
more of what I believe in than any other party with any power at this time.
There are those that on principle of not voting for anything they don't like
will advocate moving to a different / third party. However then they are
guaranteeing that the Republican Party will become more and more like the
BIG government democrats. If it were possible to get all conservative people
to switch at the same time it might make some sense to switch say to the Constitution Party. I would really like for that to happen. But that won't be happening any time soon, so I'm staying where I can at least influence the party that has a
chance of doing the most good and the least bad for America.

I am Pro-Life as are
many Republicans. I was a member of the FIRST BREATH ALLIANCE. And I participated
in the recall effort of Senators Feingold and Kohl because they voted to
not ban partial birth abortion on the basis of keeping it available for the
protection of the health of the woman. However there is no condition I know
of where a partial birth abortion would be the better/safer alternative.
Unless your goal is to kill the child rather than save the woman. One doesn't
need to be pro-abortion to be Pro-choice. I also support the efforts of
Wisconsin Right to
Life, and
National Right to
Life and
other such nonviolent abortion protest, and prolife organizations. Abortion
in any form performed by someone is murder. This shouldn't be a political
issue but unfortunately it is.
Please help rally 1.1 million people to sign Grassfire.net's
"Petition For
Life" - one person for each of the 1.1 million unborn babies who will
be aborted this year.
I
was recently given the stupid argument that we should allow abortion because
some of the children are going to be abused later in life so we should be
able to murder them ahead of time to prevent it. And it's not really a baby
until it can survive on its own. If it's not a baby you're not pregnant.
It is life and if not terminated it will be born as a human baby. I was also
told that since I am a man I shouldn't have any say in the termination of
anybody's baby, including my own. As I said earlier on this site your rights
end where they infringe on the rights of another. And terminating your pregnancy
is stomping all over the rights of the baby and its father. All of us man
or woman are responsible for the preservation of life.
As for the situation of an unwanted pregnancy due to rape I understand that
you shouldn't have been forced to endure whatever caused your pregnancy against
your will. But the baby should not be forced to endure the punishment for
someone else's crime. And studies have shown that you would feel worse for
having terminated the pregnancy than you do now, or after having given birth
and giving the baby up for adoption.

"...Any defense of the unborn is an attack on abortion. Grant the unborn
their humanity, recognize that a crime against the unborn is a crime, and
the whole structure of legal, moral and medical arguments for abortion begins
to unravel. For abortion to be defended, the unborn must be treated as unpersons.
This long-running debate over abortion irresistibly brings to mind another
long-running controversy in American history: the one over slavery. No matter
how many times opponents of slavery explained that they were out to abolish
it only in the territories, or just in the District of Columbia, or in
international trade, and that they had no designs on the Peculiar Institution
where it already existed, their opponents knew better. Defenders of slavery
knew that, if the slaves' humanity were recognized in just some parts of
the Union, or some parts of law, that recognition would spread and undermine
the whole institution. So it is with abortion. Begin to recognize that the
unborn can be victims, and who knows where the contagion might spread? Soon
the dogma of abortion itself might be questioned. ...For abortion to remain
unquestionable, it is imperative that not just a law protecting Unborn Victims
be defeated. The very thought of the unborn as victims, as persons, must
be denied. Deny their humanity, and we can do as we will with them. See the
history of slavery. Or of the European holocaust. That's why this is a dispute
not just over law and morals, but words. That's why defenders of abortion
will call the unborn anything but the unborn; the word implies too much,
like the possibility that they might be human. Euphemism has become their
refuge and their sanctuary." --Paul Greenberg
My opposition to abortion
on the basis of it being murder should not be taken to mean that I oppose
capital punishment for criminal acts. Because capital punishment is not murder,
it is punishment for a crime committed by the person receiving just punishment
after being convicted by a jury and that conviction being re-examined several
times before such punishment is enacted.

National Debt
Clock
Now if you were a good liberal you would blame this enormous debt on Republicans.
However if you remember civics 101, all spending bills must originate in
the House of Representatives. And during those years that spending increased
the most, and in which almost all of the debt we currently owe accrued, Democrats
ran the House.
"We have no permanent deficit anymore, the natural condition is a surplus,
okay -- so the question is, what do we do with it? We could give it all back
to you and hope you spend it right." Bill Clinton to a crowd in Buffalo,
NY.
At a press briefing, Bill Clinton was asked whats so wrong with local
school districts deciding how to spend federal education dollars? Clinton`s
response? "Because its not their money. If they dont want the
money, they dont have to take it. If theyre offended by it, they
can give it to other states and other school districts."
Translation: All the money belongs to Washington, so its our way or
the highway (the US according to Bill Clinton)!
"Excessive Government is the single largest preventer of prosperity"
Contrary to the belief of the uninformed among us, Tax cuts don't necessarily
cause a high deficit. Because our taxes are too high they are restraining
growth of companies therefore preventing taxable income from being produced.
Studies have shown that a 17% +/- flat tax rate would produce the same revenue
for the govt. that they currently have. Therefore I support the efforts of
implementing a Flat tax of 17%or less
with exemptions for the first 13,000-36,000 + dollars depending on family
size. Or some form of a national sales tax that we can chose not to pay by simply not purchasing taxed goods.
Americans for Fair Taxation
have a different proposal to make the tax more simple and fair. While I prefer
the flat tax idea, either one is a million times better than what we have
now. Also here is an interesting site on the tax issue called
Inform America. It seems just
a little kooky to me but interesting all the same. They have a $10,000 challenge
to anyone that can disprove their assertion that we have no direct income
tax in this country.
"When you turn on the light in the morning, you pay utility taxes. When you
brush your teeth, you pay water taxes. When you drive to work, you pay gas
taxes and rising toll taxes. Before you get paid at work, they take out payroll
taxes. After you get paid at work, they take out income taxes -- state and
federal. If you are married, they tax you for that too. And when you buy
things, you have to pay sales taxes and the seller's corporate income taxes.
You are probably dog tired from paying all of these taxes when you get home
at night, but then you have to pay property taxes. And if these high taxes
make you have to sell your home, you will then have to pay capital gains
taxes. Worse yet, if you become sick to death of all these taxes, they will
make you pay estate taxes." --New Jersey GOP gubernatorial candidate Bret
Schundler
While taxes affect the debt and deficit, overspending by our government.
is the real reason we have a debt. Republicans cut taxes some, which spurred
some growth in the economy. They also cut back on some increases in spending
creating a situation where we the hard working people of America created
a surplus of revenue to the Govt. However the surplus is due to the Govt.
stealing from the Social Security trust fund. If we were to experience a
recession the surplus would be wiped out and we would be going back into
deficit spending.
"Common sense is the knack of seeing things as they are, and doing things
as they ought to be done." --Harriet Beecher Stowe
Socialism would work if no one was greedy at all, if you could convince everyone that they should work hard, but that there would be no incentive to
do so. Even though all of their productivity would be collected by the state to be distibuted unequaly to everyone (total equality is impossible sine everyones needs are unequal). That everyone should work even though they get everything they need provided for them whether or not they work for it. That everyone should have exactly the same of everything. Liberals/Socialists prey on our desires to get something for nothing, promising that somehow what we get will always be more than what we give up.
"The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil
interference -- they deserve a place of honor with all that is good." -George
Washington
I follow the Ronald Reagan rule of allies. If I can agree with someone on
80% of the issues, then I consider that person an ally. However life is above
all else (i.e. more than 50%) therefore if a candidate is known to be
pro-abortion, then I cannot support that candidate.
Congratulations GWB. Now the fighting can really begin.
Presidential Candidates for year 2004
George W. Bush Current
President and sure to be the nominee for 2004. I look for a tough fight but
some very good things will be in store for us in the next four years. All
those bills that the former president vetoed like the "Partial birth abortion
ban" which passed by huge margins will now be signed into law once we get
them past the extremists in the Senate. I predict Hillary to be one of the
most vocal opponents, especially on this issue.
Good Luck George, you're going to need it.
And his VP.
Richard (Dick) B. Cheney Former White House chief of staff, Congressman and
the Secretary of Defense under President George Bush. He is pro-life and
pro-gun owner, and has made some controversial votes on some issues that
Dems. like to pick on. And of course there's the health question as well.
Face it he's not the presidential nominee, he's the VP nominee. Should his
health falter he can be replaced fairly quickly with hardly any change in
the normal operations of the country.
It's been mentioned that Richard (Dick) B. Cheney might not serve a second term as VP. If he will not be, My VP wish list could include many people. Some being: Congressman J. D. Hayworth Congressman J. C. Watts Congressman Ron Paul
And some of the others:
Nobody, is running
for President too. Nobody, sounds like a liberal to me. While I don't personally
endorse this candidate, Nobody, does provide for some comic relief.
"UNIONS. No thank you, I have a brain, I can
think for myself". Perhaps this is too strong an indictment of all unions
but I have seen far too many examples of stupidity, corruption, illegality,
and just plain whining on the part of too many unions to accept that they
serve much of any use in our modern workplace. I don't doubt that there are
employers that will exploit workers, It just that it's the unions that are
exploiting both employers and emplyees these days.

Former president Clinton
It is my opinion that Bill Clinton was not convicted of perjury because the
left/democrats were able to convince the American people that the case against
him was all about sex . And not about his perjurious testimony in court,
his obstruction of the judicial system, and his abuse of the power of the
office of the presidency in order to avoid being convicted of sexual
assault/harassment. The case which Paula Jones brought against him would
have handled itself if he hadn't tampered with it. The latest words of idiocy
out of the President on the subject of the impeachment issue, is that he
was vindicated because he was never indicted. Totally ignoring the fact that
the Office of the Independent Counsel
is still investigating. And there remains controversy over whether or not
a sitting President can be indicted.
