American
Century Funds Has been one of the best mutual funds for
small/beginning investors, with no loads (sales charge) and small initial
investments. As low as $50/month if you set up an automatic investment.

Bob Brinker is an investment
advisor who has a radio talk show. I listen to him on WLS 890am in
Chicago Saturday and Sunday 3-6pm. But
his show is
available on the web too. I find his advice to be
very accurate and invaluable.
I also listen to Ric Edelman on
WLS right after Bob Brinker on Saturday evenings. He also has a program
on America's voice. He
has a similar style of investing as Bob but with his own twists. He
has also established an investment called a RIC-E Trust where you can invest
at least $5000 dollars for anyone else's retirement including your
newborn. It grows (10% average annually) with the market and you do
no more and it's theirs at retirement. It can grow to over $1,000,000.
Welcome
to El Dorado Ranch I have a lease on a little chunk
of land here, you can too. It's really cheap if you have
a use for it.

Curt's
political page I'm sure some of you think this has no
business here but Govt. does affect
business via taxation and regulation.
U.S. National Debt
Clock our national debt and deficit have a major impact
on things like interest rates and the economy. Despite the current
budget surplus, the debt increases an average of $248 million per day
since February 27, 1998! This is due to the accounting gimmick the
Democrats invented of including our forced retirement money from Social Security
in the budget. Vote for responsible government not hand outs. Washington
seems to be more interested in spending the budget surplus on entitlement
programs than in using the money to pay off this huge debt.
Concerned? Then tell them!
I have bought my personal checks by mail for years . And I have
used many different companies depending on who had the best deal at the time.
I have never had a security problem doing this. Most companies offer new
customers discounts so switching each time you reorder is financially
advantageous. Here is a list of several check printers.
