After the presentation, members of clan were allowed to introduce members of their families, followed by karaoke singing, reminiscing conversations, lots of crab eating, laughter, & etc. Everyone had their fill of delicious food prepared by Helen & Blong Blanquera; sodas, beer, and liquor were plentiful. The day's party ended with much fun & anticipation, it was announced that the next social event will be on the next day, Saturday, August 10, 23002 at 3 p.m. at the backyward residence of Beng & Ron Curameng; the theme motif was Hawaiian, entertainment would start 3 p.m. August 10, 2002 (Saturday)- The gathering at Ron's place and backyard started about 2:30 p.m., which coincidentally was Reng & Arias birthday; the day was beautiful, the crowd grew fast to over 100 people, parking spaces around the house and surroundings were taken quickly that other guest were parked 2-blocks awaly; it was amazing that guest were able to adjust and found places to park. Members of the Reunion Clan in attendance Friday were there, plus the arrival of Melba & Ben Baylon from Lakeland Georgia, Noni & Mando DelaRosa from South Carolina. Other guests were from the Charismatic Prayer Group of St. Columba Catholic Church in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Hawaiian Luau entertainment started about 3 p.m. and lasted for about 30 minutes. The motif was Hawaiian, and almost everyone was in their Hawaiian attire with leis. Aria S. Curameng, the 5-year old daughter of Ron & Beng performed with the other Hawaiian dancers...that took the crowd's breath away by this superb performance. Food was abundant, mouth watering lechon, dinoguoan, pancit, mongo beach with pata, lasanga, pinacbet, baked fish, sarsiadong isda, all kinds of dessert, sodas, beers, watermelos, fruits, salad, hot dogs, harmburgers, ice cream and all the trimmings that went with it. Everyone had their fill and again, lots of reminiscing among the Curameng Clan during the evening that the party lasted to wee hours of the following morning. Good show! We say, "Goodnight" to get ready for tomorrow's picnic at Sandy Point in Annapolis, Maryland. August 11, 2002 (Sunday) - Picnic at Sandy Point Beach at Annapolos started about 11 a.m.; the 15x15 tent was pitched to shade the Curameng Clan picnickers as the day's temperature rose to 95F degrees, the usual fare of hot dogs, hamburgers, and its trimming was offered to delight the Curameng Clan, friends, and guests. Again, though the himidity was high, it had not dampen the reunion celebration. Swimming at the beach and games such as frisbees, volley ball, and tag of war were enjoyed by all. There were lots of pictures and videos taken at the beach picnic, pictures are now availablee in this website. As the sun sets to end the day, there were lots of tired pickners, but much satisfied to have had this joyous occasion. The Next Curameng Reunion in 2004 - It was indeed unamimous by those present members of the Curameng Clan that there will be another Curameng Reunion by 2004; the plan is to hold it at West Covina, California, where a beach and party amenities are sufficiently available and party poopers should again enjoy the next reunion, or may be would hold the reunion on board a cruise ship off the Caribbean region. Reccommendations: There were indeed lessons learned based on this reunion, being this was our first; food should be catered for the 3-day celebration to release us from the burden of labor and worry; Program agenda must be established to facilitate thorough implentation; and record of this kind of event is a must to look back and to savor and to reminisce the good times of reunion. |
