Eldridge Williamson Henley and Frances Grantham Saunders

 

Eldridge Williamson Henley the son of Edmond Henley and Jennett or Jane Williamson was born May 11, 1805 in Carnesville, Franklin Co., Ga.  He died Feb 23, 1885 in Una, Ms. Clay Co. and is buried in Soule’s Rest Cemetery Trebloc, Ms. He had a tall 6-7 foot spire like tombstone that was taken by vandals in 1972

Eldridge and Frances married in 1825 Monroe Co, Ms.

Francis Grantham Saunders the daughter of George Nathan Saunders and Mary Grantham was born March 17, 1809 in Hawkins Co, Tn. She died April 20, 1883 in Una, Ms. Clay Co. and is buried in  Soul’s Rest Cemetery

1. Mary Jane Henley B: 1828 in Monroe Co, Ms M: Andrew H. Huffman

2. Hepsibeth Adelaice Henley B: Aug 13, 1830 D: November 04, 1895 M: William Sim  Pate and lived in Chickasaw Co, MS.

3. Leonidas Henley B: 1831; served in the Civil War Co. H 13th Miss. Va Army Capt. Wesley Mallard.

4. Eveline Henley B: Aug 22, 1832 D: Sept 9, 1923. Remained single. Buried in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. McCondy, Ms.

5. Darby Henley B: 1833 D: Abt.1850  Buried Soule's Cemetery in Trebloc, Mississippi

6. Salina Henley B: 1835 Married Mr. Lawhorn and had one child Laura B. Lawhorn.

7. Louise "Lucy" Henley B: 1837 D: 1860

8. Stephen Griffin Henley B: Feb 17,1838 D: Mar 6,1924. Married Dora`Elizabeth Colbert, around 1889.

9. John Saunders Henley B: Aug 8,1840 in Aberdeen, Ms  Monroe Co.   D: Feb 4, 1929. He married Mary Elizabeth Wright on November 11, 1869.

10. Eldridge Newton Henley B: Dec 5, 1842 D: Mar 2, 1897 M: Emma J. Lawson

11. William Jasper Henley B: Oct 31, 1845 D: Jan 4. 1912 and is buried in Soule's Chapel Cemetery. He M: Catherine Allen and did not have children. William served in the Civil War "Buena Vista Rifles"  He enlisted April 1861 Co. A 17th Miss Northen VA. Army.

12. Frances E. Hulda Henley  B. June 16, 1848  D: May 28, 1928. Married 1) _____ Milford  2) Alpheus A. Lawson.

13. James Richard "Dick" Henley  B: March 11, 1851  D: June 12, 1923. He married Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Smith on December 04, 1890. She is the daughter of James Oliver Smith an Louiza Elizabeth Gideon
