2. SRI CHOKKANATHAR TEMPLE, THIRUMANGAICHERI VILLAGE
Thiruvidaimarudur Taluk, Thanjavur District, INDIA.

TEMPLE HISTORY:
This 900-year old Temple was built and consecrated by Pandiya King in the Chola Dynasty to establish regional co-ordination among different regimes in those days. Hence, the Pandiya King named this Temple as Sri Chokkanathar Temple, the name of the Presiding Deity at Madurai.

Many rare / invaluable vigrahas and icons of Chola King days, in this Temple, will continue to represent the rich Cultural Heritage handed down to our generation. The last Kumbabhishekam is said to have been performed nearly EIGHTY FIVE YEARS AGO.

TRUST's RENOVATION ACTIVITIES :
The rare Brick Arch Roof and Vimanam were in a ruined condition. A sum of Rupees Five Lakhs, received from a Number of Devotees, has been spent to renovate this Ancient Temple. On completion of Renovation and performance of Kumbabhishekam on the 10th February 2006, this very Ancient Temple regained its own good old Sculptural and Architectural Beauty.

MAHA KUMBABHISHEKAM WAS PERFORMED
