KUMBABHISHEKAM IS SCHEDULED TO BE PERFORMED ON THE 4th MAY 2007.

TEMPLE HISTORY:
 This temple built around 900 years ago by Chola Kings near Kumbakonam. Saint Thirumangai Aazhwar visited this famous temple and worshipped the Presiding Deities. The idol of Sri Anjaneyar has a special feature in that HE has HIS right leg forward ready to rush to the rescue of his devotees. This Temple was once a famous 'Naaga- dhosha Parihaara Sthalam'.


TRUST's RENOVATION ACTIVITIES:
The last Kumbabhishekam was celebrated more than 50 years ago. There was heavy growth of bushes on this Dilapidated Temple Structures. The TRUST took much initiative for the removal of growth of heavy vegetation by applying tree-killing acid , from the temple structures. The dilapidated architectures / structures of Sri Perumal Sannadhi, Sri Thaayaar Sannadhi, Sri Nagar Sannadhi and Sri Narasimhar Sannadhi, Main Vimaanam have been fully renovated. The roof portion of all the four brick-arch mandapams with wide cracks, have been strengthened and concretized with the technical expertise of TRUST's members. The collapsed Madhil Wall of 13 ft. high (500 ft. long) around the temple, has been partially reconstructed.
