The
former Duke, His Grace Robert Edward James Lancaster II,
Duke of Wessex, abdicated and renounced the Duchy and title thereof on
said date, and hence the title and position fell to his son, Edward
James Lancaster. Upon reaching the age of eighteen, Edward will
assume the title and Duchy, as Duke Edward James Lancaster VIII, the
thirty-ninth Duke of Wessex since the inception of the Duchy in 1066.
Until that time
Edward's mother, Her Ladyship Stepanie
Dynasty-Lancaster, will assume the roles and duties until her son
reaches the requisite age.
