BACK POTLUCK!
Hey Guys – Long time no talk!! We have lots to update
you on!!
Firstly, Thanks to all our returning members, and welcome
to our new members! Hope you enjoy the Culinary Arts Club!
A big announcement to make, the Culinary Arts Club first
cookbook has been recognized in the nationally circulated “Active
Women’s Magazine” for the January/February issue. Be
sure to pick up a copy at Chapters!
Next, we have a ton of exciting events for you all this
term – especially our 3rd annual Iron Chef Competition! The
Turret is booked for Thursday March 4th so we can break our fundraising
record for the Kidney Foundation of Canada – but more to come
on that closer to the date. One thing I will tell you – the
returning champs are back to defend, and we also have a Trailer
Park Boy flying in from out east for us and it is going to be a
blast.

was a great success!!

COMPETITION!
Hope
everyone's midterms are going well - good luck to everyone who has
a few more coming up this weekend! The cupcake competition was an
exciting kick off to the year - sprinkle sand icing were everywhere!
Congrats to the SEVEN big winners - some had crazy cupcakes
and some - well, we could have sold them as wedding cakes.
Honourable mentions were Nga Dinh, Nondini Chakrabarti,
and Hypatia Fric. Fourth prize went to Vince Liew - the new "Measuring
King"; 3rd was Tori Maden with her sexy new cafe latte mug,
2nd place was headed up by Melanie Crutchley - one of our newest
members! and the Coveted Kettle first place was awarded to Aliya
Kaba - we'll try to get pictures up on the website as soon as possible.

Due to rain, we had
a small turn out, but of course in FULL culinary style, we partied
and ate all the pinapple and yum-yum brownies!

OUR FIRST MEETING
Hey Everyone!
Alright, so our first meeting was fantastic....lots of
delicious food, and
congratulations to our prizes from the potluck!

Considering the very short notice of the first meeting,
there will be
another for everyone to attend - with T-shirts, signup opportunities
and a
chance to meet the whole exec team! Coming up this Monday, Oct 6th
in the
HawksLounge once again (on the 2nd floor of the Athletic Complex)
at 6:00pm.
We will have a calendar for you to take with you outlining all the
great
activities coming up this year....and we know you won't want to
miss a
single Culinary Arts Club fun opportunity!
Once again membership is only $5, and the T-Shirts (with
some great, witty
slogans) are a steal at $20. Don't miss out on your chance to proud
show-off
your Culinary pride.
