| "Right, well we'll go round and look now, just stay in here and make sure the girl is ok, is she Emma?" asked the policeman "Yeah, my girlfriend" said Ben. "Well she looks a bit worried so just sit with her and make sure she's ok." he said again. The policemen went round the house while Lauren sat down with Emma to try and cheer her up. Ben knew that it was him she needed now and not Lauren. He knew it wasn't the house annoying her. It was stupid of them to have got carried away the last time they had seen each other. Ben told Lauren that he wanted to be with Emma now and she got up. "Thanks Lauren" said Ben as he sat down beside Emma. "Em, do you want a cup of tea?" asked Mark. "Yeah, thanks Mark" replied Emma. Mark and Lauren went off to the kitchen to make the tea. In the meantime, the police came back and told Ben to come out into the hall. Emma and Ben both came running out and what they saw made them both go whiter than white. "What the hell do you think your doing?" shouted Ben. He was standing there staring at his cousin Alex. "Alex, how could you?" said Emma. "And to think Ben asked you if you wanted to help write songs for the album!" "Ben, Emma, I'm sorry but look at you guys, you have everything, the whole family is jealous" said Alex. "And not only do you have money Ben, but look at the girl you've got, I bet she's a right ride in bed!" "God, I've heard enough of this, just take him wherever with you" said Ben. "And you can just shut your face where Emma is concerned, just leave her out of this right? Listen I love this girl so you can just go to hell and I know you think she is only staying with me cos of the money and can I just say that is total bulls**t and if I ever hear you make a stupid comment like that agin I can actually get a restraining order put on you and also probably sue you! So just get out of my life and stay out of it!!!" "Well, I'm sorry about this, we're going to have to get some statements from you" said a policeman. "Yeah sure, can we give them tonight because we're going away for the next 2 weeks?" asked Emma. Mark now came out to the hall because he heard the racuet and had wondered what Ben had been shouting at. MArk's reaction was the same as Emma and Ben's had been, but he stayed quiet. "Yeah, we'd prefer you to give them tonight anyway" said the other policeman. They took the policemen into the living room. Lauren had made everyone tea and Emma went over to give her a hug. "Thanks Lauren hun! Your being great tonight" said Emma. Ben and Emma gave their statements and it turned out to be a long night and when the policemen had left all was focused on Ben's suitcase that he still had to pack. "Please Emma, you have to help me" said Ben. "Oh ok ok, but I think you forgot about my suprise" said Emma. "Oh yeah, well, ermmmm...it's not gonna seem to be quite as romantic now but you know the way we had talked about getting married, well I just wanna know if we can get engaged properly?" said Ben with a sparkle in his eyes. "So what are you trying to ask Ben?" asked Emma. "Well" said Ben, getting down on one knee. "Emma, will you marry me please?" But before Emma could give an answer, Lauren walked into Ben's bedroom and told him that his best friend Toby had come round. "LAUREN!!!!! Can't you knock? You've just ruined THE most important moment of mine and Emma's life!" shouted Ben. "Well not really, I'm only messing" said Ben laughing. "Very funny Ben" said Lauren, walking out and slamming the door behind her. "Duh Ben, that wasn't very nic e!" said Emma. "She knows I didn't mean it" said Ben. "Anyway hun, can I ask you that again?" "Yes!" said Emma laughing. "Ok, Emma will you marry me please?" This time Ben pulled the most beautifulest engagement ring out of hi pocket. She knew she was so young, after all it was her 18th birthday next week but she knew after three years that Ben was the man for her. "Yes Ben, one big yes!" said Emma. "Oh my God, Emma this is amazing! I thought you would have said no" said Ben, with one of his cheeky grins. "Oh yeah, the ring! Trust me to forget. Gimme your hand". Ben took Emma's hand and slipped on the tiny engagement ring. He then pulled her onto the bed and kissed her. Emma pulled away and said "No time for nookie Mr Adams, I got your suitcase to pack and that pregnancy thing to do". They both laughed. "And Toby's here" said Emma. "Let's not tell anyone until we've got everyone together." |
