September 2001 Cub Call

Welcome to Pack 72’s September Back to Pack meeting, where we have the chance to welcome new Scouts as well as recognize the Summer achievements of returning Scouts.  We will also kick off our annual Trail’s End Popcorn sale.  This is our major fund-raising event for the year, and it is always a big hit.  Several Scouts have reported that friends and neighbors have been asking when these great products will be available again.  If you haven’t already received your sales kit, please see your Den Leader.  Then get out there and sell, sell, SELL.  Remember that a percentage of everything you sell will go into your Cub Account, and can be used for any number of things, including Day Camp (held in June) and Resident Camp ( held end of June thru 1st week in July). Also, check out your sales kit for some great prizes you can win.  So pick your prize, set your goal, and get out there and help your Pack and yourselves!  Always keep in mind the following safety rules when you’re out selling:

v      Always sell with another Scout or an adult.

v      Don’t carry large amounts of cash.

v      Never enter anyone’s home when selling popcorn.

v      Don’t sell after dark, unless you’re with an adult.

Also, be sure to wear your Scout uniform.  Always smile and introduce yourself, and be sure to say “Thank You”.  It’s also a good idea to make a copy of your completed order form, in case you lose your original.  HAPPY SELLING.

School Night was held on Thursday, September 20th at Fogelsville Elementary School.  A total of  21 new Scouts have signed up,  giving the pack a total of 83 boys.  Many thanks to Colleen Schleicher and all who helped out at School Night, and a big Pack 72 WELCOME to all new Scouts.

Saturday, October 13th has been designated as Scout House Workday.  Keep your calendars open—more information to follow.

Also in October, on Saturday the 20th we will be taking a trip to Bear Creek Junction near New Tripoli , to visit one of the greatest corn mazes around.  We will meet at the Scout House at 1:30 PM to travel together.  Cost is $6.40 for adults, $4.00 for children 4 – 11.  The pack has reserved a picnic table for snacks and goodies, so plan on making a day of it!
