A raised right hand with the pointer and
middle fingers upright and the others curled in (thumb over other
fingers). The Sign is used when giving the Promise or when
saying the Law or Motto. During activities, a leader gives the Sign with
the fingers spread in a V as a request for silence and attention. All
present cease their conversations and give the Sign to indicate their
readiness to listen.
