Mandatory Weigh-in
Thursday, 1/20, 7-8 pm or Sunday, 1/23, 1-4 pm

Awards
- All participants will receive a certificate.
-  Workmanship trophies will be awarded for the Best Scouting Spirit, Most Original, Best Workmanship, Best Paint Job, and Scout's Choice. Cars MUST be at weighed by 6 pm on Sunday, 1/25 to be judged.
-  The Top 3 finishers will get trophies.
-  Judging is Sunday, 1/25, 7:00 pm at the Smith's (same as weigh-in). All parents are welcome.

Race
Tues, 1/25, 7:00 p.m. at the Jan Pack Meeting at Flynn

Hints
-  Lots of websites with free info, some with info that can be purchased. Search for Pinewood Derby.
-  Don't permanently adhere the weights to the car until weigh-in, just in case the car is too heavy.
-  Weights and graphite lubricant are available at weigh-in.

Rules
1. The car must have been made this current scouting year.
2. The car should meet all racing specifications:
(These guidelines are to assure that all cars run equally on the track):
· Car must be made from official kit provided*.
· Width cannot exceed 2-3/4 inches.
· Width between wheels must be 1-3/4 inches.
· Length cannot exceed 7 inches.
· Bottom clearance between the car and the track must be at least 3/8 inch.
· Car must use four wheels.
· No restrictions on axle placement.
3. Weight cannot exceed 5 ounces. Scales vary slightly, be prepared to make adjustments during weigh-in.
4. No loose materials, no taping weight down to car.
5. Wheel bearings, washers, & bushings not allowed.
6. No springs allowed.
7. Detailing is allowed as long as it fits dimensions and other above rules. · Car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices.
8. The only lubricant to be used will be dry graphite. This year the race committee will not lubricate the wheels for you. However, lubricant will be available at weigh-in.

Event Descritption

Halloween Party: Our October Pack meeting will be a Halloween party. Everybody must come with a costume and there will be prizes for the winners ! Families of our scouts are also welcome.
