Pack 432 Event Descriptions
This is a Baltimore Area Council-BSA event for all
cub scouts, parents and siblings: We travel to see a
Baltimore Blast Soccer game. It usually takes place
the last Saturday in January or first Saturday in
February. Tickets have been running around $13. See

This is a pack event for all cub scouts, parents
and siblings: This is our big pack meeting for the
year. We usually hold it the second or third Saturday
February from about 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Grace Episcopal
Hall. Tickets have been $5 for adults, $3 for Scout
and siblings 5-12, and free for siblings 4 and under.
Prices are subject to change depending on menu and
entertainment. We will have dinner, entertainment,
cake contest, cake auction and many awards and
prizes. See the latest flyer for details.
This is a pack event for all cub scouts, parents
and siblings: this is scheduled on a Saturday about 1
to 2 weeks before Christmas at 6:00 PM. The event
takes place at Colonial Landing Senior Community. We
Carol through the hall of the Senior Community and
finish singing in the recreation room. We provide
beverages and snacks for the seniors and scouts after
singing. This is a no cost event.
Broadcreek Scouting Reservation is a BSA camping
facility. They offer many programs over the summer.
Some are just for scouts and a parent, while others
are open to Families. See the Broadcreek
website or the flier that is handed out at the
Blue and Gold Banquet. Prices and dates vary
depending on the camping program selected.
Committee meetings are open to all parents, guardians
and leaders. This is where the pack activities are planned.
All parents are highly encouraged to attend. Meeting times
vary month to month, but will be emailed and posted on website.

Family camping/rafting (Spring)
This is a pack event for all cub scouts, parents
and siblings. This is a weekend event near Harper's
Ferry West Virginia, which includes rafting (on the
Shenandoah River), campfires, and lots of good food
and camaraderie. Swimming in a pool, trips to
Harper's Ferry, flee markets, a civil war museum,
hiking, movies and more are also an option. The
rafting and camping package costs about $60 per
person. For those that are only interested in camping,
cost is about $6 per night per person. Food for two
breakfasts, one lunch, one dinner and two campfire
snacks run an additional $10 approximately if you want
to eat with the pack. You are also welcome to bring
your own food The KOA
campsite has a pool, civil war museum, and movies
that are included in the price. The also have game
room. The KOA is located near the entrance to the Harper's Ferry
National Park where buses can be taken to downtown
(there is a nominal fee for this item). The
Appalachian Trail Society has a store located in the
area.
This is a National Pike District event for all Cub
Scout ranks, siblings and parents. It is usually held
in the middle of June. It is a morning of "catch
and release" fishing with awards presented at the
end of the day.
This is an annual fund-raising event for BSA that
helps to sustain the cost occurred by the Boy Scouts
of America. A pamphlet is distributed describing some
of the financial breakdown. If 95% of the families
make a donation of $5 or more, the Cubmaster and
committee chairman perform some outlandish activity
for the entertainment of the pack as a reward for
participation.
This event is a district event open to all scouts.
We spend the morning in the McKeldin area of Patapsco
State Park, where the scouts travel to various
stations that imitate the gold rush in Alaska. The
scouts will walk a rope bridge, pan for (fake) gold,
and perform other activities that mimic ice fishing,
team skiing, surviving a blizzard. This is a fun
event.
This is training for leaders and assistant leaders
at all levels. The training breakdown is: tigers, den
leaders (wolf and bear), Webelos, and
Cubmaster/committee chairperson. Classes are offered
through out the year and are usually scheduled in
conjunction with New Leaser Essentials
training.
This is a district event at Columbia Mall open to
all scouts. There will be a pinewood derby race plus
other activities and tables.
This is a district event open to all scouts,
parents and siblings. This is a day were we do a
conservation project for the community. We are
assigned a park and perform tasks such at planting
flowers, spreading mulch, raking leaves, marking
trails, etc.
This is a BSA event for all cub scouts, parents and
siblings. We travel to see a U.S. Naval Academy football
game. It usually takes place on a Saturday afternoon
in November. Tickets have been running under $20.

This is the introduction course for leaders and
assistant leaders at all levels. Classes are offered
through out the year and are usually scheduled in
conjunction with Leader-specific
training.
This is training for the Bear leader that is moving
on to be a Webelos 1 leader and Webelos 1 leaders.
The course teaches camping skills and provides good
tips for those leaders that are planning to take their
dens to the Webelos-O-Ree.
This is a pack event open to all scout, parents and
siblings. The scouts are given model cars to build
(models distributed at the December pack meeting). In
January, the scouts race their fellow ranked scouts.
First, second and third place winners then go into the
finals to race for the pack championship. Sibling and
parents races follow the pack finals.
This is for all scouts. During the past several
years, the pack has only had one fundraiser per year:
popcorn. Scouts earn prizes from the popcorn company
based on the amount of sales. In addition, the pack
awards prizes for the top three sellers in the
pack. The pack receives a portion of the sales that
ranges from 33 to 40 %. This money goes towards
awards, sleepover, Blue and Gold
Banquet, event prizes and more. This is the ONLY fundraiser our pack does...it is what pays for all we do.
This is a pack event open to all scouts, sibling
and parents. The scout and siblings build sailboats
at the picnic and then race them in water filled rain
gutters. We have a cookout and other picnic type
games.
This is a pack event open to all scout, parents and
siblings. The scouts are given model rockets to
build. The scouts race the other boys in their rank.
First, second and third place winners then go into the
finals to race for the pack championship. Sibling and
parents races follow the pack finals.
Roundtable meetings are open to all leaders and
assistant leaders. Currently, the meetings take place
on the second Monday of each month (from August to
June) at Columbia Academy starting at 7:30PM. This is
where the leaders from the entire National Pike
District gather to obtain information on upcoming
events, ideas for pack/den activities and get a chance
to mingle/make contacts with leaders for other
units.
This is an event held in September. It is for
recruiting new scouts to our pack.
This is a council wide food drive event open to all
scouts that takes place on two consecutive Saturdays.
The scouts hang flyers the first Saturday and collect
the food the second. The food is delivered to the
local food pantry. This is a chance to give something
back to the community.
This is a National Pike District event for all Cub
Scout ranks usually held the middle of July. It is a
day of competition for the scouts, where they will
compete for medals in shot put, running races, tug of
war, etc.
The National Pike Summer day camp is a great event.
Archery, BB, Scout Skill, special guests and much more
is available for the scouts. This is a scout event,
but there is also program for young sibling. Parents
can cut their cost by attending and/or helping at
stations.
This is a day at the Baltimore Zoo
for Tiger Cubs and their partners.
This is an overnight event for Tiger Cubs and their
partners.
This is an overnight event for Wolf and Bear Cubs,
and a parent (or guardian).
This is an overnight event for first and second
year Webelos scouts, and a parent (or guardian).
This is a district overnight camping event for
first and second year Webelos scouts, and a parent (or
guardian). The scouts learn skills, meet Boy Scout
Troops, have campfires, shoot either BB gun or arrows
(using bows), and have lots of fun. The scouts
essentially plan, prepare and clean their meals (with
some adult help), set up the campsite and awards.
This is a council event held in various Veteran
Cemeteries on the Friday of Memorial day weekend. The
scouts set up thousands of flags (one at each grave
site) to honor the men and women that have served our
country. After setting the flags, there is a brief
ceremony with a few songs and people dressed in
uniforms from the different US conflicts dating back
to the revolutionary war.
This course is required of all leaders and must be
taken every three years. The course provides training
on rules and proper methods for protecting scout,
leaders and BSA from problems with child abuse. The
course is available in traditional classes through out
