| In the evening we found a great place, that we visited also during our last visit in early February 2004. The Railroad Blues Club! (504 W. Holland Ave. Alpine, TX 79830 (915) 837- 3103) They have a great atmosphere and the biggest selection of beer (also on tap) that David or I have seen in a long time. I recommand in the summer time to try the Wheat beer on tap! It is seasonal, so I had a glass of Pilzner the last time. These pictures I found off of the Holland Hotel. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Just across the street of the Railroad Blues is a great Barbecue-place, I recommend. It looks very simple, but it is really good! After we had a great dinner in the Texas-Grill-Restaurant of the Holland Hotel, we decided this time in February to stay in the Holland Hotel, because we could walk everywhere easily. The rooms are awesome and the service excellent. The restaurant is now run by the owners of the Bread & Breakfast Restaurant (just a little bit down the street from the Hotel). One afternoon we spent just walking downtown, checking out the shops and saying hi to Debbie in the Gallery. She was busy teaching a student to paint, so off we went to check out the campus of Sul Ross University and their museum. |

| Infront of the museum is a small garden with all the cacti and plants of the region. We had fun trying to figure out, what was a Yucca and what was a Spanish Lance. In the evening we went either in the Twin Peaks-Restaurant or in the Hotel-Restaurant. |
