C Churches

In Germany the Government takes out 10% of your monthly gross income tax and gives it to your Church (after taking some of it for their effort), if you belong to one of the official Churches, which are Lutheran, Catholic (biggest congregation in Bavaria), Islamic and Jewish, lately also Nondenominational Christian, itsy bitsy part of Jehovah witnesses and still a little crowd of left over Hare Krishnas  (listed from biggest to smallest group, sorry if I left a splinter group out). In the early 90s a very sad trend started in Germany. People started to leave the churches and declared themselves Atheists. I talked to some of them and believe me; it was just due to economically reasons (or just simply stinginess).
Hl. Familie, Wiesbaden
This was my church in Wiesbaden. After the Sunday service the kids would play in the grass behind the church, while the grownups got together in the little Pub belonging to the church and had a glas of wine with the priest and talk about the service.
In the States Churches and Church groups are one of the columns of the society. After three years, I still try to get a hang of it, who is believing what and why and why they all had to get a new church, just because they didnt or did want to sit during the mess (this is a little bit exaggerated, forgive me). However, there are so many Churches as there are different points of view in the States. I think here in Roswell there are more Churches then Restaurants! Good is that nobody has to pay a monthly sum in the States. The money to support the church is only collected at mess and up to every one to give or not to.
We are going now to a wonderful Nondenominational Church also known as a Purpose Driven Church: Grace Community Church where we both are feeling very comfortable. Its Pastor Rick Hale married us in 2000. He is a wonderful Man of God and we are looking every week forward meeting the people and worshiping in Church.
David dragged me once in a Pentecostal Church in Bloomfield. I met really nice gentle church members, but as soon as the Church started they all turned into wild people, yelling their prayers to God. I was really scared, especially as I found out later that some Pentecostal take Rattlesnakes and pass them around to proof, that God is with them. This world can be really, really strange.
