Harold was born and raised here. They farmed the home place which is one and a half miles south of town. They moved in 1961 over to the Elmer Peterson farm (the one that was hit by the tornado in 1936). Harold and Katherine son Dwight moved on the old homestead which he is still farming. In 1971 they sold the Peterson place to O'Conners and moved into the farm buildings of the Roy Nelson farm one and a fourth mile south of town. In March, 1973 they moved into Magnet. They raised two boys and three girls. Harold passed away April 29, 1974. Katherine enjoys fancy work and making and tying quilts for her grandchildren.

Millie Johnson was born in Oakland, Nebr. and later moved with her parents and brother and sisters three miles east of Magnet on a farm in 1912. She and her brother lived on the home place until his death in 1956. Millie left the farm and lived with a sister in Lincoln and worked at various jobs. She then moved to Magnet in September, 1961.

Mr. and Mrs. Jess Dennis lived in Magnet for 17 years. They have three children. Jess being a good looking bachelor came to Magnet in 1954. In 1959 brought his wife Sandra to town. They are owners of the Dennis Elevator and Fertilizer Co.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Beaudette moved into town on April 10, 1960 off the farm north east of Magnet. Lee having lots of work left in him worked out as a farmhand for a few years before retiring. He is a native of Magnet and also is Magnets town Mayor.

Emil, Albert and Mathilda Dibbert moved on which was the Old Butterfield Ranch March 1940 and farmed until September 1951 when they moved into town. Albert died March 20, 1965. Emil helps out at the station. Mathilda is the "most". She's the best baker in town. No one can out do Mathilda when it comes to fixing food.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Becker were married in 1950 and have lived on the farm edge of town all their married life. On May 6, 1975, they thought that was the end of their farm. The tornado took drying bin, two hog houses, barn, chicken house and tool shed and lots of damage to the inside of the house. Gene came to Magnet in 1936 with his mother and brothers.
