Clara Tilton and her late husband Harry, came to town from Newcastle off the farm in 1953 on New Years Day. Harry was in partnership with his son Ellis in the filling station. Mr. Tilton passed away May 20, 1968.

Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Long came to town July 3, 1933, with six children. They are the owners of the White Eagle Antique Shop. In the winter they travel to one coast then the other visiting friends and relatives, plus looking for antiques to bring back to Magnet.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bergman and Jake live in the Christian Church Parsonage. They came from Hartington in Febr. 1976. Dian is a native of Magnet, daughter of Ellis Tilton. They are owners of the J & D Hardware Store.

Jalmer Nelson is another old time farmer. He farmed northeast of Wausa, had a sale and moved to Magnet in January, 1971 to retire.

Maxine Thierolf and her late husband Onie moved here Nov. 8, 1952. Onie drove transport for Floyd Dawson till Jan. 1, 1953 when they went into business with Ellis and Harry Tilton at the station and trucking. Dec., 1954, they sold their share to Ellis and Harry. March of 1955 they moved to Fullerton, Nebr. and sold Morman Feed till August and moved back to Magnet. Onie ran the State Patrol from March 1955 till March 1956. May 1957 they bought the tavern from Jack Chrisman and sold it Nov., 1959 to Gussie Yunker. In Dec., 1960 he started running the Patrol for Cedar County till his death March 30, 1974.

Maxine has two children, Patricia and Bill. She worked in the Rest Home in Wausa until April 1. Now is working in the office at the Osmond Hospital. Also is the secretary for the Village of Magnet.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rohde, Randy and two daughters Nancy and Dianie, which are married now, moved to town in 1960. They first had the grocery store and Post Office. Also worked part time with Dawson Transport driving a truck. Now they have the Post Office only and both like to go fishing in their spare time.
