Fjalster, Tuna, Kalmar Lan

Dear Papa:

I like it very much in Sweden. I have visited at six homes here in Fjalster. I am well and happy and am now staying with my Aunt in Fjalster (mother's sister). I have been here since June 24th when her brother took mama to the hospital in Vastervik. I was at the station at Vimmerby when they put mama in the baggage car on a stretcher. Clarence must be very unhappy to hear that mama is dead but he will have to hope for the best. My aunt and uncle and cousin Nancy from Fjalster came to the funeral at Frodinge and brought me along, so I saw Mama once more but I could not recognize her. I also went along to the cemetery where she was buried. My Aunt in Fjalster had some new white dresses made for me to wear as mourning.

I am happy to be in Fjalster where there are so many playmates. My mother's sister and family are so good to me.
