National Competitions
This page is dedicated to the various competitions played on a National scale, with either teams, or individual players. 27th “Anyone for Chess” Tournament 2003
Once again, The Anyone For Chess Tournament took place in the Kilmurry Lodge Hotel, and once again, it was C.S.N. who sweeped the board in the senior section. The lads got the usual 7am train from Kent Station, and had arrived in Limerick at around 10am. For the Junior students, the clocks were ticking for the whole journey. However, the Senior students spent more time yawning, and trying to stay awake. It took a very large breakfast roll to wake them in the end. By 11:30am, the games were underway. The players performed well, and did their school proud as usual, and in the end, a great day was had by all.
The Junior students keep their heads in focus before it begins.Past pupil Alex lopez, who won the Junior Category last year (see History), took the Senior Category this year with a white-wash result of 5/5. The rest of the cash prizes went to C.S.N. students, the results of which are shown below.
