The project on Hermann Hesse and India consists of four parts. First is the study to be published in Malayalam on the influence of Indian Philosophy and culture especially the connections to South India on Hesse as well as the influence of Hesse's works on South Indian literature and arts.
Second part consists of Malayalam translation of Siddhartha, Glassbeadgame, Narzisus and Goldmund and selected stories of Hesse in which the influence of South India is pervasive. Third part is a Malayalam translation of selected essays and poems of Hesse. Fourth part is translation of Hesse's stories and poems into Sanskrit and other South Indian languages

Many poems and stories translated under the project were published in Malayalam Journals and literary supplements of popular dailies during the period from 1980 t0 2000. The translation of Siddhartha was published in 1993. The first volume of the selected stories was published under the title Pullamkuzahal Swapnam in 1994 and second volume under the title Gertrudinu Snehapoorvam. The translation of Narzisus and Goldmund into Malayalam is also completed. The translation of selected poems of Herman Hesse into Sanskrit is progressing well.
