St. John's is Newfoundland's largest city.  It is located beside a bay on the east side of the island, facing the Atlantic Ocean.             St. John's is also the oldest city in North America.

You can discover lots of wild life and  see much nice scenery at the
Gros Morne National Park.  One of the most desired destinations of many travelers is
Western Brook Pond.  This fjord is located on the west coast of Newfoundland.
Hiking to Western Brook Pond
One unforgetable trip we took was a bird watching boat tour.  Hundreds of thousands of birds are there to be seen, fighting over space and food.

Seagulls, Puffins, and Arctic Terns nesting on rocky cliffs
Without any doubt, the most interesting birds on the island were the Puffins.  These birds
can grow up to thirteen inches tall and are identified by their unique shapes of their beaks.
