Swan Song

I wait by the phone
But you don't call
Why do I bother
With you at all
You seldom come through
With promises made
You either forget
Or you get waylayed
Some other offer
Appeals more to you
Or something pops up
That you'd rather do
While I sit waiting
For you to arrive
Or to at least call
And to explain why
You just can't make it
But you are sorry
There's always next time
And not to worry
But guess what, darling
This time you are wrong
There'll be no more next time
This is our swan song

Desire Incarnate

The miles between us seem endless tonight
I long to feel your arms wrapped tight around me
To feel your lips pressed passionately to mine
Tonight I am desire incarnate
And I feel I will go mad with the wanting
Conscious, coherent thought is non existent
I have ceased to think, I only feel
And the feelings are so intense, I am consumed
My flesh is blazing to the touch
My lust knows no boundaries
I am slowly melting into a puddle of need
And no one is here to satisfy my desires
Hurry home to me, my love
Before this inferno leaves nothing of me but ashes
I Think Of You

In the still of the night
When the moon rides high in the heavens
And the cicadas sing their song
When time seems to be suspended
It is then that I think of you
Of the time when you were mine
And the emptiness in my heart
Is as vast as the galaxies
And as neverending
Yet only in the darkness
Do I allow myself to remember
Allow myself to feel
For the night is a balm to my soul
It wraps around my heart
Like a velvet glove
And filters the pain
Which with the coming light of day
Grows too much to bear
So, I will bury it deep
Until night falls again
And then, once more
Will I think of you

Past And Present

A face from the past
Not seen in years
Suddenly present
And amid tears
And laughter, we talk
It feels so right
The years melt away
On this glad night
The feeling's still there
Why did we part
I can't remember
Nor can my heart
This chance encounter
Was meant to be
The fates are watching
O'er you and me
And we would be fools
If we did not
Take full advantage
Of this sweet spot
We find ourselves in
The feeling's strong
It's withstood the years
This can't be wrong
I see in your eyes
You feel it too
Forever is here
For me and you
