Working Place Blues 2 I wish I was in the position To tell my boss where to go To tell her exactly what I think But that's fantasy, I know I need this job, I have bills to pay Responsibilities to meet But what I wouldn't give if I Could dump it at her feet But quitting is not an option Retirement's far away So my drudgery continues From day to day to day The job itself is not so bad It has its own rewards But I can't stand the politics The managers, the boards The rules that we know nothing of The secrets that they keep The scapegoats, and the whipping boys The fallout that we reap I keep saying their day will come They'll get there just desserts But all this trash, day in, day out It really, truly hurts copyright 5/30/2001 Terri Lyn Stanfield All Rights Reserved
Nothin Nice You dare to call me sentimental Not me, I'm bad to the bone Don't you go spouting no mushy stuff Keep that junk for you own Ain't got no time for sugar coating Sweet talk just ain't for me I'm mean and tough, rough and ready Just keep that up, you'll see Call me a mushball one more time You're treading on thin ice This is your very last warning It won't be nothin nice I've got a rep to uphold And mush ain't got no part So don't expect any mercy From this cold, wicked heart copyright 5/31/2001 Terri Lyn Stanfield All Rights Reserved
Timeless And Eternal My heart is filled with love for you, but my arms are empty Such a cruel twist of fate to put so many miles between us The feelings are as strong and real as if you were here by my side As I know you are, always, in spirit The short bits of time we get to spend together Only reinforce the certainty that what we have is timeless The knowledge, without doubt, that it is eternal I would not trade this for all the treasures of the world And yet, tonight, my heart cries out in loneliness Knowing that yours does, as well, is not comfort, but torment But torment will turn to joy when once again I hold you in my arms Though it be but for a short space of time, then we will part again The short while that we are in the heaven of each other's company Will carry us throught the weeks, and months, of hades until we're together again Secure in the knowledge of our absolute commitment Never doubting each other, or our love, but cursing the separation As I do tonight, when my heart cries out so desperately for yours copyright 6/1/2001 Terri Lyn Stanfield All rights reserved
