The Poems of

What Choice Did I Have?

Out on the town with the one I love
Dining, dancing, anticipating what was to come
Lost in the feelings we shared
When I felt a pull so strong
I had no choice but to follow
So I let my eyes track, until they met yours
There, they froze, and a feeling of desire
Such as I've never known, washed over me
Leaving me breathless
I could see into your heart, into your soul
And I was lost, and found, at the same time
I couldn't say how much time passed
But suddenly, my love was at my side
Leading me out the door
What choice did I have, but to go
But I left behind a part of myself
The other half of my soul, that was you

Cruising

You walk in here with your jeans so tight
It's a miracle that you're moving
And that shirt you're wearing, my, oh my
It's so obvious that you're cruising
Well, cruise on over here, sweet thang
I'm the one your mama warned you bout
You might think that you're the predator
But I'm gonna turn you inside out
When I am done, you're gonna be tamed
And you'll belong to me, heart and soul
I've decided you're gonna be mine
Tonight you'll play a different role
The hunted, instead of the hunter
Course you're not gonna know what hit you
You'll be thinking that you're in control
But I'll be pushing your buttons too
I'll let you chase me til I catch you
I promise it will be worth your while
And when, at last, the game is over
You will have every reason to smile

The Fall

I had it in my power to bring you down
But I just couldn't do that to you
Though we are no longer together
I couldn't be the one to destroy you
I'm quite certain you'll fall anyway
But your blood won't be on my hands
I suppose, by standing idly by
I will be guilty to some degree
For as I could destroy you
I could also save you, but I won't
You've put yourself in this position
I won't be the one to pull you out
And perhaps in falling, you'll rise again
And be the person you once were
The one I loved and respected
Or maybe it will only make you harder
Either way, your fall is inevitable
And I will be watching with interest
