What A Fool

You knew you could depend on me
I was at your beck and call
Anything you asked, I was only too happy to do
And you asked much.....and often
My friends tried to tell me you were using me
But I refused to admit it
Choosing to believe it was all in the name of love
But the only one in love was me
What a fool I was

Waiting In The Shadows

You lurk there in the shadows
Just waiting for me to have a moment of weakness
Then you pounce, shredding my crippled defenses
And reaching into the depths of my soul
Decimating me with memories of sins past
Ripping open old wounds with vicious glee
Laughing as I am crushed beneath the weight
Gloating over my misery, reveling in it
Increasing it at every opportunity
Until at last, I find it within myself to take control
  again
And for a while, at least, you are conquered
But I know you are always there.....waiting

The Land Of Dreams

Travelling through time and space
Drifting on the winds of fantasy
Flitting from one dream to another
Embracing one, running from the next
Visiting each for a time, then moving on
Traversing the entire spectrum of the dreamscape
Until wakefulness nudges at the edge of our
  consciousness
And the journey is interrupted
But with the coming of the night, we will fly once more
To the land of infinite possibilities
The land of dreams

We're Rich

This is where I want to be
By your side eternally
Though we're not rich, we do fine
What we don't have, I don't mind
We may not have much to spare
But honestly, I don't care
Because when you look at me
It is oh, so plain to see
The love that shines from your eyes
And once more, I realize
That no riches could compare
To the wealth of love found there
I'll never be poor, that's sure
While I have a love so pure
I need nothing else, my love
For you are my treasure trove
