Hello and thanks for visiting my little home on the web.  I am a woman, a partner to my spouse, a mother to my children, and a doula.  Doula is my most recently acquired hat and I am so honored to be able to help women birth more closely to the way they desire, and have wonderful memories of their births.
Through the course of the two successful pregnancies I have had,  I learned a lot about how I would like to birth babies.  I didn't get to have the sort of birth I dreamed of after the first medicated vaginal birth of my daughter Cosie.  Therefore, when Isis was born early via cesarean section I was more than a little disappointed. 
Less than a year after her birth it became clear that it was in my heart to help other moms have wonderful birth experiences.  With the things I have learned, I can help moms get closer to a more pleasant birth experience. 
I would like to work with you and your family to create beautiful nurturing birthing memories, no matter what kind of birth you have.  I advocate natural childbirth, but I didn't birth either of my children without intervention.  I am here to support YOUR decisions and help you find the information you need to make the right decisions for YOU   while helping you find the answers and guidance you need to birth in the way you most feel comfortable.

Throughout the site you're about to explore you'll find much of my personality weaved in.  I hold many stong beliefs, many of them are not stated here, many are.  Just because we don't agree about some particular parenting issue doesn't mean we can't work well together.  The one requirement I do have is that the mothers I help nurse their babies. The proof that breastfeeding is superior to formula continues to mount and I truly believe that nursing and the chemical prolactin that is released while nursing helps me to be the best mother I can be.  I feel that every mother should have the opportunity to experience this.  And being the breastfeeding activist  that I am, if I can't help you or know the answer to a breastfeeding question I will find it in short order.  I plan to construct an extensive page devoted entirely to the benefits of nursing.  Everything else is negotiable.
