Troy is a beta fish that has been with our family for about one year. He is Mary's neighbor and over time has moved from a smaller glass container to a more spacious tank with its own filtration system. It also has a top to better protect him from the cats' curious paws.
Beta fish do not enjoy being in tanks beside one another, and have been know to injure themselves on their tank trying to fight a beta in a nearby tank.
They are also known to jump out of their tank, so it is recommended that they always reside in a tank with a lid.
